The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1861

Chapter 1861 You’ve Been Framed by Others

However, she was stubborn about the wrong thing. Ian had investigated Peter's social media account before taking out his phone to add the account. Cindy continued to lay the sheets, but she noticed Ian's actions from the corner of her eyes and knew what he was about to do, so she advised, “There is no need for you to come forward. I will tell Peter about it when I find the time. Your identity is still a bit sensitive, so it’s not appropriate to look for him yourself.”

Ian didn't speak; it seemed that he didn't care to listen to the advice. Since he did not fill in his own personal information during the verification stage, Peter did not accept his friend request for a while. Ian was not in a hurry. Even if his request was accepted, the person holding the phone should be the girl and there was nothing for him to say to her.

After Cindy finished with the sheets, the two went out of the room and returned to the couch. Ian switched on the TV and the two had watched the TV for a while before he felt his phone vibrating. He took it out and had a glance—it was Peter accepting his friend request.

Ian hesitated for a moment, then stood up and went to the balcony. She turned to look at him; she could almost guess what he was going to do. Sighing, she looked away and continued to watch the TV.

He did not send a message to Peter but made a direct voice call. It took a while for the connection to be made and soon, Peter's voice came. “Hello, who is it?”

Ian's tone was flat. “It's me, Ian Morgan.”

Peter paused; he probably didn't expect Ian to add him on social media. “Oh, it's you. What's the matter? Is there something wrong?”

Ian asked at once, “What did you send Cindy just now?”

There was puzzlement in Peter’s tone. “Huh, what? What happened?”

When he responded as such, Ian believed what Cindy had said earlier before sneering. “Then, you should take good care of your phone, lest someone sends bad messages in your name, which will easily cause a misunderstanding.”

Peter didn't seem to understand what was being said. “What do you mean? What are you talking about?”

He had just found his phone and there were no chat notifications with Cindy.

Sarcasm dripped from Ian’s voice as he replied, “How can you not even realize that you've been framed by others? I really don't know what to say to you.”

With that, he hung up the call and kept the phone in his pocket. He didn’t return to the living room immediately but stood on the balcony.

Cindy waited for a while and when she saw that he hadn’t come back, she rose to her full height and headed over. She opened the balcony door and came to hug Ian's waist from behind. “What's the matter with you? What did you just say to Peter?”

“I didn't say anything much. Peter doesn't seem to know what's going on.”

She nodded and rubbed her face against his back. “I'll delete him from my friend list in a while, so that his issues won’t affect our relationship in the future.”

Smiling, Ian touched Cindy's hand that was still on his waist. “Alright, I can be rest assured this way.”

She initially wanted to jokingly ask him when he would delete Yulia from his friend list, but she felt that it was meaningless to ask. He was in the entertainment industry and now that his foundation was not stable yet, some things could not be executed. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have many opportunities in the future, so she had no choice but to swallow the words that arrived at her mouth.

The two snuggled with each other for a while before their takeout was delivered. Then, Cindy called Aurora and asked whether she wanted to come over. However, Aurora had already eaten and was now applying a sleeping mask in preparation for sleep after she cleaned up.

At this moment, Cindy felt that Aurora really seemed to have adjusted her lifestyle to a particularly good one and wondered if Bryce’s death had anything to do with it.

Since Aurora refused to come, Cindy and Ian returned to their room after eating. Suddenly, he remembered something and turned to ask her, “What did the design company staff say to you today?”

Cindy was startled for a moment, then thought for a while. “She didn't say anything. I gave her the certificates and she simply glanced at them before saying that I’m hired. To be honest, I was surprised too.”
