The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1888

Chapter 1888 I Don’t Remember

Cindy wasn’t sure where she was and only knew how to describe her surroundings, but Ian, who heard her reply, could tell that she wasn’t alone because he knew she would have come to meet him right away as soon as his filming was done.

Therefore, Ian told Cindy to stay put while waiting for his arrival. After that, Cindy hung up the call and put away her phone.

Seemingly knowing who called, Yulia calmly asked, “Is Ian done?”

Cindy replied with an affirmative hum and adjusted her sitting posture, but Yulia was able to spot the hickeys on the former’s neck in the process.

The next second, she froze and quickly looked away, knowing what caused those marks on Cindy’s neck since they were all mature adults. On the other hand, Cindy didn’t notice Yulia’s reaction as she was too caught up in her wait for Ian.

Meanwhile, Ian took a few minutes to navigate around the set due to his lack of familiarity with the place, although he eventually found his way to Cindy. However, when he saw Yulia, he was stunned, whereupon a darkened expression showed on his face.

He then pushed the glass door open and set his eyes on Yulia, but instead of asking her why she was there, he turned his attention to Cindy and asked, “Is everything taken care of in the company?”

Cindy stood up from her seat. “Yes, everything has been addressed after a discussion with Hannah.”

Ian nodded and stretched out his hand toward Cindy, who seemed to understand his intention. Thus, she reached out to his hands with hers and held them tightly before the man pulled the lady closer to him. After that, he shifted his gaze to Yulia and said, “What a coincidence. We just met yesterday, and here you are now.”

Yulia chuckled but remained seated while leaning in her chair. “Yeah, it’s a small world indeed.”

“Alright, we need to get going.” Ian nodded without talking too much to Yulia, who responded with nothing more than an affirmative reply.

Soon, Ian walked out of the lounge with Cindy, whereupon he asked her about their encounter after making sure they were far enough away from the lounge. “How did you ladies run into each other?”

“She was the one who said hi to me first and wanted to talk to me,” Cindy said with a snort.

“What did you two talk about, then?” Ian frowned, his eyes fixed upon Cindy.

Oh boy, you have no idea how much she went on and on about her story. Cindy pondered for a while and smiled. “Do you know how long I was stuck with her? Almost an hour and she was the one who did all the talking, so can you imagine how much she babbled to me?”

Ian’s expression remained tense. “Well, since your conversation took so long, what were you two exactly talking about?”

“What were we exactly talking about…” Cindy echoed the man’s words and added, “She was talking all about you, and I didn’t know you made such a good impression on her.” Initially holding his hand, she let go of it and seized his arm while resting her head on his shoulder.

Soon, Cindy chuckled and said, “Besides that, did you know Yulia knew you quite some time ago when she went on an expedition for some cultural research? She said that was when she met and talked to you.”

Meanwhile, Ian was surprised and confused. “When was that? How come I don’t remember anything about it?” Deep down, he had no memory of Yulia at all, although he had wondered whether both of them had known each other earlier when she started growing closer to him.

While Yulia always spoke to him as a close friend would, Ian dismissed his suspicion more often than not because he didn’t think he and Yulia really knew each other at some point in the past. Therefore, he no longer wondered about that again, thinking they couldn’t have met each other earlier. As soon as Ian and Cindy stepped out of the set, they entered the car, where Ian stared at Cindy with a stern look. “Did she say when she met me? I really don’t remember seeing her in the past.”
