Cindy continued to work on her design at hand and looked at all the details of the drawing in her attempt to modify it. When it was completely finished, she packed her items away with the intention of heading to sleep. Right before she headed off to bed, she texted Ian to inform that she was going to rest and then said good night.
However, just after she had lain down and was about to fall asleep, he called.
She felt amused because they had just talked on the phone and said whatever they wanted to say, so if she answered this call, she didn’t know what else to say. But even so, she still picked up the phone.
At once, Ian called out in a complicated tone, which surprised Cindy, to which she responded by asking, “What’s going on? Is something the matter?”
He first explained that he was now in the hotel room before adding, “Yulia came over to see me earlier and I just finished meeting with her.”
Cindy was lying on the bed, so when she heard such words, she sat up at once. “Yulia went to look for you? She really is bold, huh? Is she not afraid of being photographed by the media again and that a big fuss would ensue as a result of her going to see you at this time?”
“She’s probably desperate and decided to take the risk. I saw her all covered up and sneaking over to me.”
Ian at first did not recognize that the person was Yulia. She had knocked on the door of his room for a long time while he had no idea who was standing outside after looking through the peephole. Later, when Yulia saw that he did not open the door, she sent him a message.
However, he still did not dare to allow her to enter and they met at the hotel’s restaurant in the end.
Yulia's purpose was also straight to the point. She wanted to publish a statement and have him follow suit with his own announcement so that they could both clearly explain the matter at hand. Her current situation was really bad in which she looked particularly depressed and haggard.
Then, Ian asked her in passing if the executive director had contacted her. Yulia said no and also added that she had tried to contact the man, but he kept avoiding her and refused to see her. Since the executive director was unwilling to meet her, she had no choice but to approach Ian.
As the main party involved in the incident was Ian, it wouldn’t completely solve the problem even if she could locate the executive director. She and the man had been friends, but because they didn’t have the same characters, they were not able to get along well. Afterward, they became enemies because of a little issue. However, she did not expect him to backstab her.
Cindy hurriedly asked Ian whether he had promised Yulia. Ian said with emotion, “At present, I can’t deal with it, so I had her contact our company and wait for their decision.”
Hearing this, Cindy was relieved. Hannah had warned before that Ian couldn’t afford to cause a commotion and have the company deal with matters instead. She was worried that Ian would be soft-hearted if Yulia wore a pitiful look.
Cindy also admonished Ian and told him not to meet Yulia anymore. Although he was extremely lucky not to have been photographed by others this time, it was likely that the media would focus on him now that he was often on the news.
If Yulia looked for him the next time and they met again, he might not be so lucky.
Ian had also understood this; he had clearly thrashed it out today and informed her not to keep coming to see him. Since he hadn’t blocked her on social media, she could reach out to him easily over the phone. If she really came over and the media caught them, they would both get into trouble again, and she would be worse off.
After Yulia came over, she also knew she had been impulsive, but she said there were some things she still wanted to say to Ian in person. So, Ian felt that she was afraid that he would ignore her over the phone. Moreover, if she acted pathetic over the phone, he could not fully witness it, so it would have less effect on him.
