The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 2036

Chapter 2036 The Baby

After all that talking, Aurora and the couple left the hotel room to go down to the private room they had booked in the restaurant. The moment Cindy walked in, she saw John walking around the room with his baby in his arms. The child was clinging onto his shoulder with his eyes wide open and awake. Sophia was resting on a couch by the side while scrolling through her phone, and Logan wasn't in the room at all. It seemed like he had gone to pick his wife up.

When Sophia saw Ian and the rest of them walking in, she hastily lowered her phone before standing up. "Come here and take a look. We ordered a few dishes earlier, but you guys can add some more." With that said, she handed the menu to Cindy.

Cindy's gaze was still on the baby in John's arms. She took the menu over and ordered a few dishes before handing the menu to Ian. Then, she walked over to the child. The child looked different from how he did the last time—he seemed a little chubbier, and his eyes seemed a little bigger. His pupils were extremely dark, and they looked like large grapes. The child stared at Cindy for a long while before he smiled. Cindy felt defeated by the child's innocent smile, and she couldn't resist the child at all. "Can I carry him for a while?" she asked while touching the child's cheek.

John would love nothing more than to hand his child over to someone. What's up with this kid? He's usually asleep by this time, but he's so awake today. Even his temperament seems different. He doesn't allow me to put him down, and he refuses to sit around even when I'm carrying him. He wants me to walk around.

Cindy took the child into her arms and patted him gently. The child didn't seem to mind strangers—he was happy as long as someone was carrying him. Although Cindy didn't have much experience, she was a natural at taking care of a child. She let the child rest on her shoulder while placing one hand on the child's back. As she slowly walked around the room, she hummed a tune for the child who was leaning on her. His wide eyes scanned the room while Ian sat in a corner and watched Cindy.

Perhaps every individual had a thousand different sides to them, at this moment, Cindy looked especially patient as she carried the child in her arms and soothed him. Ian thought she seemed like a completely different person. Even though Cindy was also patient with him, she treated the baby with a totally different attitude. Ian couldn't help but visualize how Cindy would look while carrying their child. What a perfect scene.

Oddly enough, the child had been making a fuss for a long while, and he didn't sleep even after John carried him for a long time, but it only took Cindy two rounds of walking in the room for the baby to fall asleep in her arms. The baby began to snore lightly. "It looks like our little one really likes Cindy," Sophia uttered with a smile.

Cindy lowered the baby into his pram. "He feels so soft in my arms. I was afraid that I'd hurt him."

"Don't be fooled. You've never seen him crying—that'll really give you a headache," John commented. Sophia let out a sigh from beside him. "I didn't know that a child had power to overthrow the world until I saw this kid crying. I'm curious to see how Logan will interact with his kid in the future."

Logan's personality was a little eccentric. If he gave birth to a child like him, the father and son duo would cause havoc at home. After a while, Logan returned with Lola. He was supporting her as she took small steps.

Lola's belly was huge, and it was taking her a lot of effort to just walk. However, she seemed to be in good condition as her skin looked really fair and soft. "Hello." Lola waved at everyone.

Sophia beamed at her. "I saw you a while ago, but it seems like your belly has gotten even bigger."

Lola rubbed her own belly as she replied, "I think so too. I feel like it's still growing." Logan helped Lola sit down carefully. "You guys ordered already, right? I'll tell them to serve the appetizer."
