Then, Leah asked, "Ian's back, isn't he? He's in that hotel."
"Yeah, he is." Logan chose not to lie. "He came back to deal with the inheritance."
Leah's heart twinged at the mention of the inheritance.
Bryce actually had loads of inheritance and if she hadn't caused such a big scene in the end, she might have gotten a generous share, if not half of it.
However, things went south at the very last step, leading her to get almost nothing in the end.
She grew resentful as the thought crossed her. Her reputation had been soiled, and she was already getting on in years. It would be impossible to find another rich man to live the rest of her life with.
Even if she wanted to become a sugar baby or someone's lover, no one would want her.
More than that, she didn't have any professional skills, so she couldn't survive on her own. She had no choice but to exclusively depend on what Bryce left in her name.
It would be all right if he left her ample inheritance, but all she got was a measly amount. Worst of all, it was to support Simon and her. Leah just couldn't turn the other cheek no matter what.
She had sacrificed years of her youth all for Bryce's inheritance. Never in a million years did she think that it would all go to waste.
After some hesitation, she asked, "What did you bring me here for? I just wanted to see Ian. I have something to tell him. Can't I even do that?"
Upon hearing that, Logan cut to the chase. "Ian doesn't want to see you. Don't think about approaching him. Your face disgusts him."
Unwilling to resign to fate, Leah retorted, "I won't go to him anymore after telling him what I have to say. But since he's hiding like this, of course I won't give up."
Logan snorted at that. "So what if you don't give up? Do you think you can still make a big scene with your current situation?"
He took a gander at her plastered leg in the meantime. It seemed that she had suffered a serious fall.
Leah's face turned grim. His words had gotten to her, which was why her tone now became a little harsh. "What do you mean I can't make a big scene? I'm going to denounce him online. I'm going to uncover all his deeds and let his fans see what he's truly like."
Logan nodded at that. "Tell me, then—what is he truly like?"
What is he truly like? The question stumped Leah and she had trouble answering it.
To that, she opened her mouth a couple of times, her face a little stiff.
In Leah's impression, Ian acted practically as he seemed, at least toward her.
On the surface, he disdained her, and it was the same deep down. Then, he gave her the cold shoulder on the surface and in reality, he still gave her the cold shoulder.
Even when he was facing the cameras, he never showed any kindness toward her.
He seemed to have decided to turn against her and not give her any due respect like back when the two of them lived in the Morgan Residence.
So, even if Leah were to tell people Ian's true colors, it was still precisely as he acted.
Passersby came and went, and a few curious ones would look over at them. So, Logan raised his hand after some thought. "Take her away. Why waste my time when you can't even say anything useful?"
Taken aback, Leah hurriedly yelled, "Where are you taking me? Let me out! I want to get out of the car!"
Meanwhile, the chauffeur went to the driver's seat while two bodyguards entered the car from her left and right, sandwiching her in the middle.
Leah, on the other hand, was exhausted after having fussed about it for a long while. At that point, she couldn't make another scene.
Logan didn't specifically say where to bring her, but these guys knew what their boss was thinking.
And so, they closed the doors, started the engine, and immediately took her away.
Leah was still wearing a hospital gown—she had probably sneaked out.
Hence, it was a little troublesome. They would have to send her back after 'taking care' of her, or Logan actually wanted to just chuck her to some random place.
He stood rooted to the spot for a moment before returning to the hotel.
The speech was already over by the time Logan got back to the engagement party.
Cindy and Ian were both somewhat sappy, crying as they stood on stage.
Even Sophia and Lola were wiping at their tears in their seats.
Logan grumbled at that, "F*ck, that b*tch wasted so much of my time."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
