Hence, they didn't dare to say anything now.
Cindy had been very inspired, but this incident had caused her to lose her mood.
She took her phone out and was about to send Gary a message. However, she hesitated for a long while because she didn't know what to say.
Should she thank him for visiting Mr. Kaufmann and backing her up?
That was certainly out of the question. After all, she might have looked too much into it since Gary was here for proper business.
By then, her situation would be even more awkward.
After hesitating for a long time, Cindy typed out a message in the end. However, instead of sending it to Gary, she sent it to Ian.
There wasn't anything important in the message. It was just a simple 'I miss you'.
Ian was probably filming now, so he didn't respond to her message.
Cindy put her phone down and tried to calm herself. Then, she continued making some final adjustments to her design.
However, her mood was greatly affected, so her condition was completely different from just now. Cindy glanced at the time; it was almost time for her to get off work, so she decided to while her remaining time away.
Cindy didn't do anything else as she waited to get off work; she couldn't even focus on the documents.
Then, she decided to pack her sketches in her bag after work to continue with the designs when she got home. After all, she didn't know when Aurora would be coming back today.
When she collected her things and left the office, Mr. Kaufmann was also walking out of the elevator at the same time.
Mr. Kaufmann seemed to be looking for someone, but he smiled when he saw Cindy. "Did you just get off work? Are you going home now?"
Cindy hastily stood upright and answered, "Yes."
Mr. Kaufmann nodded. "Let's have a meal together when you have the time. I'll get Gary to come along as well."
When she was faced with such a situation, Cindy couldn't say anything else. In the end, she simply smiled and said, "Of course."
Mr. Kaufmann waved at a hand and dismissed her, so Cindy continued walking toward the elevator.
A lot of her colleagues were already gathered at the elevator, so they naturally saw her talking to Mr. Kaufmann.
They all had complicated looks on their faces; these people used to mock her for being completely useless and getting the job only because she pulled some strings.
However, now that they knew how solid her strings were, these people didn't even dare to mock her now.
It was true that when someone's background grew prominent to a certain extent, no one would dare to question their abilities anymore.
It was quite ironic when she thought about it.
Cindy avoided the people's gazes as much as she could. She rode the elevator downstairs and went out before proceeding to hail a taxi back home.
She finally let out a long sigh of relief when she got into the car. Days like this really seemed to go on forever.
As expected, she didn't see Aurora when she got home, so she figured that Aurora was at the company right now.
Cindy went and cooked some instant ramen. Aurora still hadn't returned even at this hour, so she probably wouldn't be coming home to eat. Hence, Cindy just threw together a meal for herself.

After dinner, the woman went back to her room and took out her sketches. She washed her face before she continued to work on her designs.
Not long after she had started, her phone began ringing on the side.
It was a call from Ian, and he had probably seen her message.
Cindy hastily picked it up. "Are you done over there?"
"No," he said before continuing, "The schedule has been heavily delayed, so we're rushing to get things done. I might come home late again tonight."
Cindy sighed as well. "I'll visit you when I have time."
Ian smiled. "It's okay, we'll talk when things have settled over here. I wouldn't be able to take care of you even if you come over during a time like this."
In reality, Cindy didn't need to be taken care of; she wanted to take care of Ian instead.
Then, Ian asked her what Aurora was doing.
It seemed like Ian didn't know that Aurora had gone to the company, so Cindy explained it briefly to him.
After thinking for a while, Ian said, "Hannah did mention it to me before. The company probably wants to establish a contract with my mom. She didn't talk about it in detail, so I guess she'll talk to my mom about it today."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
