If my design draft is shortlisted this time, I believe our sales will grow further in the future. Cindy grabbed her design draft as soon as she got back and skimmed through the requirements stated on the purchasing orders. Nonetheless, she quickly realized she couldn't deliver what she intended due to the lack of specificity in the requirements, which sounded general and vague. After all, she believed everyone had a different definition of what might seem right to them, and that made it hard for her to determine a moderate extent of formality in her masterpiece when she was requested to look into that.
Cindy took a deep breath and pondered for a few moments before she finally began to get on with her work. As a workaholic, she tended to overlook everything that was going on around her as soon as she entered focus mode. After finishing the structure of her drawing, she went on to work on the details. Without warning, someone appeared to be wheeling a chair toward Cindy, but she was too engrossed with her work to notice that. Instead, she only knitted her eyebrows and continued drawing without looking at the chair.
Soon, someone approached Cindy and glimpsed her for a while before asking, "Someone was looking at you by the door just now. Was she a friend?"
It was at that moment when Cindy snapped out of her trance and shifted her gaze to the door, only to realize there was no sign of anyone there. "Who was looking at me?" She turned her attention back to the lady.
The lady shook her head in response. "I don't know her either, but it seems she is the new designer hired not long ago. She overshot the door when she walked past it earlier, but then, she came back and kept her eyes locked on you. So, I thought you two knew each other."
As soon as she ended the conversation with her colleague, Cindy continued to spend the rest of her afternoon finishing her job. Although she didn't have to take the entire afternoon to complete her drawing, her perfectionism and desire to deliver the best quality compelled her to spend more time on her task than necessary.
Even when it was time to leave work, she was still glued to her office chair, working on her design draft. In the meanwhile, while some of her colleagues were still at their desks to work overtime, the rest had already packed their belongings and headed home. Like her colleagues who were working overtime, Cindy stayed in her seat and repeatedly looked at her drawing to find details she could amend. When she was finally done with her work, she looked up and saw someone by the door, recognizing Lucy's face.
On the other hand, Lucy, who was gazing at Cindy, smiled at the latter when their eyes met. However, her presence wasn't exactly uplifting to Cindy, who found Lucy detestably annoying. After all, she reckoned she had made herself clear about what she thought to Lucy during lunch earlier that day. Seriously? I thought you could read between the lines since we're all working adults, but… It looks like I was mistaken. In that instant, Cindy lost her mood to amend her drafts and put them back into her briefcase, whereupon she tidied up her work desk and left.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
