Nicole knew that even though Jay didn't say it out loud, he was still angry in his heart. So she smiled bitterly at Kerr and said, "Don't mind him. He's just a kid."

But she actually wanted to know whether or not Kerr gave a damn about it. She didn't look straight at him, but she was watching him from the corner of her eye.

"It's fine." Kerr didn't give it another moment's thought. He just picked up some food for Nicole and put it on her plate.
