At midnight, Madelyn coughed, and Zach immediately called for the 

nurse. After the doctors and nurse came in, they gave her a complete 

body checkup. 

Zach asked worriedly, “How is she?” 

The doctor saw the data, and his expression relaxed. He told Zach,” 

Mrs. Jardin is out of danger, but she’ll need to stay in the hospital for 

observation for a while. If there are no further problems, she can be 

discharged.” 

“When will she wake up?” Zach asked. 

The doctor shook his head thoughtfully. He said, “She should be 

waking up soon. However, there might be other complications based 

on Mrs. Jardin’s previous medical history. This time, she inhaled a 

large amount of harmful gasses, which may have caused her to be in 

a coma for a long time. Her condition is still well, so she may wake 

up in a few days.” 

Zach had heard of this many times. The doctor saw his expression 

and stopped talking. They then left the sick ward. 

However, not long after they left, Madelyn regained her 

consciousness. She called out to him, “Zach.” 

Zach stopped rubbing his temples and immediately rushed to the 

side of her bed. He dared not hold her hand too tightly. He replied, ” 

I’m here.” 

Madelyn felt the warmth from his hand and said, “I feel terrible.” Her 

Zach comforted her, “It’s fine. I’m here. I’m going to call the doctor.” 

Madelyn shook her head and said, “Zach, I think I’m dying.” 

Zach felt his heart ache when he heard her say that. It was just like 

how he had felt last time when she had been near death. This time, 

Zach was even more afraid of losing her. He brushed her hair to the 

side while pretending to be calm. “You won’t. How could I let anything 

happen to you? Rest for a bit longer, and you’ll feel better tomorrow.” 

Madelyn had been semi-conscious throughout her coma and knew 

that she had been asleep for a long time. She mumbled to him, “Mhm. 

After that, she closed her eyes. Zach stood up and took his phone 

out. He walked out and stood outside the door. Madelyn opened her 

eyes and saw Zach’s silhouette. She also heard Zach’s conversation 

on the phone clearly.
