The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning (Madelyn) novel Chapter 617

"I'll take you there in half an hour."

"I don't need you to."

Zach let her go, leaving Madelyn somewhat surprised. 'Why'd he let me go so easily? Is he actually being reasonable for once?'

Madelyn immediately lifted the sheets and got out of bed. She looked at her legs and found out that her smooth and fair legs were now covered in marks left by the man. She could not help but grit her teeth and curse inwardly. 'What an animal!'

As soon as her feet touched the ground, Madelyn felt weak and collapsed onto the floor. Then, she heard the man on the bed letting out a satisfied and light laugh.

The room's lights were turned on. Zach was wearing a robe that was hung loosely open. revealing his well-toned and tanned chest. He sat leisurely on the bed and lit up a cigarette before taking a drag and exhaling a puff of smoke as he looked at her lazily. "Do you need any help, my darling?"

Madelyn ignored him. She placed her hand on the bed and stood up from the ground while enduring the pain. Then, she went into the bathroom with her clothes.

As she gazed in the full-length mirror, she realized that there were bruises all over her body that even the dress she was holding could not cover.

Suddenly, she felt an overwhelming sense of helplessness. Her reflection in the mirror looked pale and nonchalant as if she was someone who had just been violated.

Things turned out to be completely different from what she had expected.

She thought about it and realized that Jadie should have already graduated and married Zach by this point in the timeline. Zach was not supposed to be here with her. Instead, he should have been in Ventropolis, taking over the Azure Corporation and doing what he did best.

Madelyn spent over half an hour in the bathroom and only came back out after getting dressed. She walked over to the table, checked her bag, and was relieved to find that all her important belongings were still inside.

Zach casually put on his suit without any rush. He buttoned his cuffs with his head lowered as he said to Madelyn, who was about to leave, "I've talked to the school. The exhibition ended yesterday, and you're supposed to have a day off today. As for going back to school..." After he was done dressing up, Zach walked up to Madelyn and stared at her with his deep, dark gaze. "You've already graduated. If you want to leave, Madelyn... I expect you to come up with a better excuse next time."
