Instantly, cold sweat dripped down Wendell's body. He thought Jaiden was just a mere gatekeeper but never expected that he was actually Jarett's nephew! His lips trembled as he looked to Baron for help. "B-Boss, what should we do now?"
Baron's face changed rapidly, and he glared fiercely at Wendell. "You're so reckless! How can you just go ahead and hurt someone without asking or inquiring first?! Now we've caused trouble, haven't we?"
Wendell felt wronged in his heart as he had acted according to Baron's instructions.
Later, Baron's tone shifted abruptly as he spoke to Jaiden, "I'm sorry, my friend. This subordinate of mine comes from the underground fighting scene and tends to be rough and impulsive. You see, we all make a living in the underworld. It's inevitable to have some minor conflicts. How about we both take a step back?"
Observing Jaiden's persistently gloomy expression, Baron proposed, "How about this? I'll personally come to your doorstep to offer my apologies on another occasion!"
Jaiden's mood improved considerably when he saw that the formidable Baron was being polite to him. However, he still glared and said, "Apologies? Do you believe a mere apology suffices? He kicked me and inflicted internal injuries. I have to go to the hospital later! How do you plan to make it up to me?"
Baron twitched his mouth a few times. "I'll cover all the medical expenses! I guarantee you'll be satisfied with the compensation in terms of money!"
As Jaiden heard this, his furrowed brows finally relaxed.
Then, he looked at Kingsley. "What about this kid—"
Baron hurriedly interjected, "We're together. He's with me."
"So, he's your subordinate." Jaiden rolled his eyes.
"Mr. Howe, I suggest you exercise better control over your subordinates in the future! I may be the one raising this issue today. However, if it were someone else, they wouldn't show you this level of tolerance!"
Jaiden knew that Jarett was organizing the meeting of underworld forces today for an important purpose. Although he had some family relationship with Jarett, he did not dare to cause any trouble. Moreover, Baron was not someone to be trifled with. Jaiden could not create too much chaos, so he had to let them pass.
