"I haven't had a gang of my own yet." Kingsley crossed his legs and said, "Mention this name, Kenny Shane, to him, and he'll understand."
Kendall frowned and passed on the message to Mickey over the phone. "That kid said he hasn't had his own gang yet, but he told me to mention this name, Kenny Shane, to you."
Upon hearing Kendall's words, Mickey went silent. After all, Kenny had formed a new alliance with Cassius ever since he left Cole Gang. While Kendall was completely unaware of that, the same couldn't be said for Mickey, who had long been active in the underworld.
Could this new guy just happen to get on the wrong side of Mr. Lawson? If this is the case, things have become complicated and troublesome, Mickey thought to himself. In fact, he had heard about a new rising force that had been causing quite a turmoil in the underworld before it was properly formed. After all, whoever was presenting the new force was able to persuade and receive help from the three most revered figures across the city, namely Clifford, the Head of the Hills, Victor the Jade-Faced Guru, and the Law Family of Solaris.
They're all waiting for the new force to be established.
When Kenny left the Cole Gang, a conflict arose between him and Mickey, putting them on bad terms. Therefore, Mickey knew it would give Kenny a reason to come after him should he mess with their gang members. Furthermore, he believed a newly formed gang would probably stir up some trouble or even make an example out of several unfortunate troublemakers to assert their dominance. Shuddering at that thought, Mickey refused to risk himself standing up to Kenny's wrath.
Nevertheless, an idea soon crossed Mickey's mind as he suggested it to Kendall. "Mr. Lawson, you're the Lawson Group's president, and anyone who gets under your skin is actually asking for trouble, but me? I'm just a nobody. If I go alone, I'd probably look like a clown and embarrass you. Therefore, perhaps I should contact Mr. Cole for him to send a leader to your aid. Think about it—if you have Cole Gang's leader on your side, you're going to look intimidating. Don't you think so?"
As soon as Kendall heard that, his eyes brightened up in excitement. After all, only he knew that he valued nothing more than his status and reputation. As he began to get carried away, he started to imagine how cool it would be for him to have Cole Gang's leader help him take care of such a small conflict.
