Cecilia was well aware that Christopher’s actions were deliberate, so she ignored him and focused on arranging the ointments. Afterward, she climbed onto the large bed. 

While Christopher seemed eager to join her, a stern look from her dissuaded him. 

Sharing the bed with Christopher was not an issue for Cecilia, but she knew her tendency to toss and turn during sleep, so she did not want to exacerbate his injuries. 

With the results of their investigation still pending, neither of them felt the pull of drowsiness. They propped themselves up against the headboard and engaged in conversation. 

An hour later, Christopher’s phone rang. 

Cecilia immediately turned her attention to the phone resting on the bedside table. 

Christopher answered the call and switched on the speaker. 

Anthony’s voice came through. “Mr. Christopher Forte, we’ve found the address, but the person has long gone.” 

“Do we have any leads on his whereabouts?” 

“The police are gathering evidence, but right now, they have no leads. We do know he stayed here for quite a few days.” 

“He can’t stay hidden for such an extended period. Let’s continue investigating.” 

“Yes, Mr. Christopher Forte.” 

After ending the call, Christopher turned to Cecilia. 

“Now that we’ve found the location, we’ll be able to find the person. Rest for now. There should be more clues in the morning.”

person killed in the furnace room was Juliana, right?” 

“The police have confirmed it was her. Should we release the news?” 

The police were concerned about causing public panic, so they kept the matter discreet. 

However, naturally, those in the know were already aware of it. Cecilia shook her head. “We’ll release the news once we have a clearer picture of the mastermind. 

Releasing news at this point will only put everyone on edge. However, with a photograph, the situation would change. Every pair of eyes would turn into a surveillance camera, making it impossible for the killer to escape. 

Of course, there was another possibility. 

If the mastermind had disguised his appearance, having a photo would not be of any help. 

Regardless of the outcome, making this matter public was a preferable choice than keeping it hidden. 

That night, Cecilia could not get a good night’s sleep. 

She kept having dreams about the events from three years ago, and her heart ached with each memory. 

It was not until just before dawn that she finally drifted into a slumber. 

Later on, even though she continued to dream, the heartache had vanished, and she felt an unprecedented sense of calm. 

When Cecilia woke up the next day, she found herself in Christopher’s arms. 

Her head rested on the man’s arm, her arms wrapped around his lean waist, and her legs intertwined with his. 

She realized that her peace of mind had come from him. Cecilia leaned in closer to Christopher and pecked his lips.

Christopher opened his eyes and returned the gesture. 

“You weren’t sleeping well last night, so I came to keep you company. You’re not mad, are you?” 

Cecilia buried her face in Christopher’s chest, nuzzling him like a kitten. 

“I’m lucky to have you, or I’d definitely be going to Yancey Corporation with dark circles today.” 

Christopher drew closer to Cecilia, their noses touching. As their breaths intertwined, he said, “Considering my good performance, how about we sleep together from now on?” 

“Sure!” 

Cecilia agreed without hesitation, and Christopher beamed with satisfaction. He then delivered some uplifting news. “The police, following various leads, had a renowned forensic artist in Jacaster create a composite sketch of the mastermind, and now, they’ve launched a nationwide manhunt.” 

This forensic artist was world–renowned and had helped the police solve numerous cases. 

Cecilia was surprised at how quickly the police had acted and asked, “Has Juliana’s death been disclosed?” 

“Yeah, it was done by Kenton’s mother.” 

Lydia harbored strong resentment toward Juliana. When she learned about Juliana’s gruesome death, she saw it as a form of poetic justice and wasted no time spreading the news. 

At this moment, Juliana’s name dominated the media. 

While Juliana’s death was gruesome, not a single person felt sympathy for her; they all believed she got what she deserved. Some of the more radical individuals even went as far as to thank the murderer for getting rid of the menace.

She rose, freshened up, changed into clean clothes, and tended to Christopher’s wounds once again. 

His leg injury was improving significantly. The inflammation on his arm had subsided, and his wound was healing well, no longer requiring the arm sling. 

After breakfast, the two of them headed to Yancey Corporation. 

On the way, Christopher handed Cecilia the auction proceeds that Matthias had transferred to him. 

“Ceci, not all of the antiques you sent have been sold. 

Approximately half of them have found buyers. You can take a look at the detailed invoice.” 

Cecilia trusted Christopher and Matthias, so she did not feel the need to check the details. 

“Whatever’s been sold is just fine. We won’t suffer any losses anyway.” 

When the two of them arrived at Yancey Corporation, a group of people that Christopher had arranged for was already waiting at the entrance. 

“Good morning, Mr. Forte and Ms. Yancey!” 

Cecilia gazed at the group of about a dozen people and shot Christopher a questioning glance. 

“Who are they, and what are they here for?” 

“They are the team I specifically brought in to help you manage the company.” 

Cecilia was now the largest shareholder of Yancey Corporation and held the majority of the controlling rights, making her the rightful chairman. 

However, she was about to leave Quilton temporarily, leaving

After all the effort it took to acquire Yancey Corporation, she could not allow the Yancey family to take over management again. 

Therefore, Christopher had found a team to assist her. 

Cecilia gazed at the man who had arranged everything perfectly and smiled. “I’m lucky to have you.” 

She had been primarily focused on gaining control of Yancey Corporation and making Jonathan pay the price without giving much thought to managing the company. 

Christopher smiled and said, “Ceci, go ahead and do what you need to do. I’ll assist in the aftermath.”
