The night passed like a fleeting moment.

“Darryl!”

It was still early in the morning, and Darryl was sound asleep. Then, he heard a loud and impatient cry from the Empress. “I’m hungry; go get me some food.”

The Empress shot a disgusted look at her incompetent son-in-law. ‘How could he still be sleeping at this hour when the sun is already out? And I had to wake him up!’

“Okay,” Darryl replied as he sat up in a daze.

Darryl had been meditating and cultivating the night before that, and he had only gone to bed in the wee hours!

Yvette was also awake. She took Darryl’s hand, smiled and said, “Hubby, let’s go fishing by the sea!”

The Empress frowned and said firmly, “Yvette, let him go by himself. You can stay with me.”

A moment later, the Empress thought of something and told Darryl, “By the way, I don’t feel like eating fish today. We’ve been eating fish every day. Go and catch a few hares!”

Darryl was stunned after he heard the command; he was utterly speechless.

They were on a deserted island where fish were easy to find, and hares were scarce!

However, Darryl did not refute her command. He knew that Yvette would be in a difficult situation between him and the Empress, so he nodded with a wry smile. “Sure, I’m going out to catch some hares!”

Darryl turned to Yvette and said, “Yvette, you can stay here with the Empress. Don’t go out if you don’t need anything.”

After he made sure that things were fine, Darryl strode out of the cave.
