Chapter 3412
Darryl did not follow them; he kept guard at the cave entrance instead.
However, Dennis was displeased about that. He found Darryl's presence irritated him even more. "Hey, didn't you hear Princess Angeline say that she's hungry? Go on now."
"You have enough men for that. There's no need for me to go. Besides, I'm a royal guard, so I need to stay close to Princess Angeline at all times to do my job well."
Dennis' expression changed drastically. The rest of his men were staring at Darryl unhappily. 'He should be punished for talking back to Young Master Dennis!'
Dennis gave Darryl another glare before stepping out with his men to search for food. They were lucky that they caught a rabbit in no time, which they quickly roasted after setting up a fire pit.
Angeline's mood improved at the sight of the roasting rabbit.
Darryl was bored stiff, and due to his status, he was not allowed to dine with Angeline. So, he went out of the cave to wait for her to finish eating.
Dennis' eyes started to glint evilly. He gestured for some of his men to follow the man outside the cave.
"Hey!" Dennis shouted once he stepped outside.
Darryl turned around and looked coldly at Dennis, "what do you want?" he asked him calmly even though he knew Dennis and his men were looking for trouble.
"Oh, nothing," Dennis said haughtily. "You are cocky for a mere royal guard. I didn't want to do anything to you in front of Princess Angeline, but it doesn't mean I've forgiven you." Then, he pointed to the spot before him and said in a tone that left no room for negotiation. "I'll give you a chance to make it up to me. Kneel and apologize, and I'll forgive you."
'Sh*t, did he knock his head or something? He wanted me to kneel before him? Huh!' Darryl thought with disgust.
Then, he said, "Why should I apologize to you? In fact, you should be thanking me for saving your *ss!"
Dennis' men were dumbfounded. They had not heard anyone speak to their young master like that before.
At the same time, Dennis raged with fury. "It seems like I have underestimated you. Might I remind you that my father is the garrison's commander-in-chief and that you're nothing but a royal guard? Have you thought about the consequences you would face for speaking to me like that?"
