The Ultimate Husband (Darryl and Lily Lyndon) novel Chapter 5021

"Darryl Darby!"

Gromo had a murderous expression as he spat at Darryl and said, "If the pill is real, you will have committed an unpardonable sin."

"I was going to give the Golden Pill to the Palace Master and only took it myself because of the bet I made with you. The Palace Master will lose the opportunity to improve his skills, which will be your doing. This will be your fault."

Whoa…

As the words reverberated through the air, the crowd erupted in discussions.

"Elder Gromo is not wrong."

"Exactly. Only the Palace Master can take the Golden Pill, but Darryl Darby forced a bet onto Elder Gromo. Wouldn't the Palace Master have lost his chance if the Golden Pill was real?"

"Who's to say it's not?"

The crowd's discussion grew, none of them in Darryl's favor.

Yet, Darryl accepted them with a smile, his emotions unaffected in the least.

Cormac grew slightly anxious. He rushed forward, whispering to Darryl in a low tone, "Did you see it, Brother Darryl? That Golden Pill won't work?"

The Golden Pill was a treasure one might not chance upon even in a thousand years. Yet, Gromo had found it.

Yet, Darryl had the nerve to say it would not work.

It would be best if that were the case. The Palace Master would be livid if it still had its properties, and the pill had been Gromo's gift to him. However, Gromo had taken it just because of something Darryl had said.

If Darryl had made a mistake, he might not only bring upon the Palace Master's rage and punishment but also get himself into trouble. After all, Darryl had only gotten his position as head of the Elixir Sector by recommending himself for it.

"Don't worry!"

Darryl nodded while responding reassuringly to Cormac's anxiety. At the same time, he was slightly amused by Cormac's belief that he would be a burden.

Cormac heaved a sigh of relief at his words. However, he was unable to subdue the anxiety in his chest completely.

All at once, the palace fell silent.

Everyone stared silently at Gromo, waiting for the pill's effects to kick in.

He was doomed.

From the looks of it, the Golden Pill did not seem to work.

Darryl seemed calm. He did not pay any attention to what anyone around him said. Instead, he looked at Gromo with a hint of a smile. "You keep saying the Golden Pill hasn't lost its effect. Well, have your powers improved?"

Gromo was quite something, still oblivious to the fact that he was about to be in hot water.

Gromo was immediately taken aback when Darryl said that. Simultaneously, he was confused; he had a point. Why did he show no improvement in his abilities after taking the Golden Pill?

At the same time, the crowd frowned.

"Yeah. It doesn't look like Elder Gromo's skills have improved.

"That's right. It's been quite a while, but nothing happened."

"What's going on?"

All at once, the crowd broke out into discussion. Everyone was equally confused, unsure of what was happening.
