The Ultimate Husband (Darryl and Lily Lyndon) novel Chapter 5185

Seeing her admire Darryl so much only made the displeasure in Vincent's chest grow even more.

He hurried to change the subject. "That's enough. Let's not talk about that."

As he spoke, Vincent glanced around him. Then, upon making sure that no one could overhear the two of them, a smile appeared on his face as he said in a mysterious tone, "I've got some good news, Sister Gigi."

"What good news?" Gigi perked up at the words.

Vincent took a deep breath, walking closer to gaze deeply into Gigi's eyes. "I told my master about us before I made the trip to the North Sea Galaxy. He's given us his blessing to bring me to the Pure Yang Division in half a month to ask your master for your hand in marriage."

Vincent was overwhelmed with emotion.

He considered himself and Gigi as practically childhood lovers, and he had dreamt of marrying her many a night. Since his master had agreed to let him propose, he could hardly contain his joy.

Hand in marriage?

Gigi was startled by his words. "What marriage?"

She had drunk quite a bit at the banquet and still had not recovered to her senses.

Vincent gazed at her lovingly. "Silly girl. Our marriage, of course."

As the words rang through the air, Gigi sobered up instantly. She stared at Vincent in a daze for over ten seconds before returning to her senses as she shook her head.

"You're… You're too funny, Brother Vincent."

Despite her and Vincent having grown up together and having a pretty good relationship, they were still quite far from becoming a couple. The mention of him proposing made her reject him by nature.

Seeing her reaction, Vincent panicked. "I'm sure you know I've liked you all these years but never said it out loud, Sister Gigi. I really want you to be my wife. Please don't worry. I'll treat you very well."

As he spoke, Vincent could not help but tug at Gigi's hand.

Slip!

Gigi had a great shock. She returned to her senses instantly, breaking out of Vincent's grasp.

"You… There's nothing between the both of us. I just… I just don't want to get married so quickly. It's getting late. I should go and get some rest."

Gigi turned to run away, not daring to look Vincent in the eye.

Thump!

Seeing her retreating figure, Vincent's face flushed an ugly shade of red as he brought his fist heavily down against a stone pillar.

'F*ck! It's all that Darryl Darby's fault. First, he humiliated me in the main hall, and now, he's trying to take away the love of my life.'

Vincent's anger grew as his gaze turned murderous.

'How could you treat me like this after we grew up together, Gigi Norah? Very well. Since you want to be heartless, don't mind if I return the favor.'
