Though he wasn’t fully prepared, Jax pressed the answer button.

His wife’s voice immediately came through the phone.

“Hello? Jax? Why are you calling in the middle of the night? What’s wrong?”

“Sorry, honey,” Jax’s sudden apology stunned his wife.
