"Well, I'm on the west side. It's a little far from Hotel Huasidun. Why don't we have dinner next time?" Tom declined.
Kaylie's voice became disappointed. "Ah? Why are you there?"
Tom said apologetically, "I just came here to do business. I won't be able to go back for a while. I'm sorry. We'd better make an appointment next time."
"Okay, let's have dinner next time." Kaylie's voice was filled with endless disappointment and resentment. She sighed, "Tom, if you were here, you could help out."
When Tom heard this, he was worried. Frowning, he said, "Are you in trouble?"
He was also at the Hotel Huasidun. If Kaylie was really in trouble, he could send someone to help her.
Kaylie said, "Sort of. Someone's annoying me."
Tom could hear someone else talking on the phone, which meant that there were a lot of people there. Maybe she was at a party.
Tom hated the word "party". In the past two days, he had attended several parties.
After a few more words, he was sure that Kaylie was not in any danger, so he hung up the phone with ease. Then drank more wine with the employees of his new company. It was getting late, so he decided to go back home.
However, when he came out of the private room and walked towards the elevator, he suddenly saw a group of people walking over from the opposite side. One of them was a graceful woman and looked very familiar.
Apparently, it was Kaylie.
Worst of all, Kaylie saw him too, and their eyes met.
Awkwardness filled the air.
Tom was stunned for a moment, then he quickly lowered his head and turned to walk in another direction.
This was so awkward. No matter how thick-skinned he was, his face would blush when he was caught on the spot! Just a few minutes ago, he told Kaylie on the phone that he wasn't here, but he was met a few minutes later. It was so embarrassing!
Most importantly, with Kaylie's personality, now that she met him, she would definitely pester him, which gave him a headache.
So the best way was to pretend not to see her. He decided to leave as soon as possible!
However, this method did not work at all, because Kaylie had already seen him, and her eyes widened, showing a surprised expression.
Kaylie missed Tom very much. After what happened that night, she was sure that she had fallen in love with Tom. If she had known where did Tom live, she would have directly come to Tom's home!
She had texted and called Tom almost every day, but Tom never paid much attention to her, and even didn't reply to her texts, which made her upset. She even hid in the quilt and cried.
