As soon as Tom saw the person's expression, he knew that he had been misunderstood. He threw away the recruitment flyer, stood up and said with a smile, "Landon, long time no see."
Tom soon recognized that the person in front of him was an acquaintance named Landon, who was a few years younger than Tom. Landon was a good-natured young man. He used to sell breakfast downstairs at Tom's home and got along well with Tom. He had invited Tom to have a few meals.
"Landon, didn't you go North already? Why are you back?" After pleasantries, Tom asked curiously.
Landon answered, "I'm back. I'm working with Chase now."
Tom saw that Landon wear a designer suit that cost a few thousand dollars. He punched Landon in the chest and teased, "Landon, you've made a big fortune. I haven't seen you for a few years. Now you put on a famous suit."
Tom was in a good mood when he met his former acquaintances. After resting for a while, he had recovered a little. His face was not as pale as before, but he still looked miserable.
Being praised by Tom, Landon scratched his head, laughed and said, "Not a big fortune. I just made some money a few years ago."
"You're lucky." Tom was happy for Landon. He thought Landon was a kind young man.
Just then, a dissatisfied voice came from behind, "Hey, Bean Sprout, what are you beeping at there? Hurry up and come over to me."
Bean Sprout was Landon's nickname, because he was as thin as bean sprouts. When Landon heard this voice, he immediately looked back and said apologetically to Tom, "Tom, Chase called me. I'll go over and talk to him first. Could you wait for me here for a while?"
Tom nodded, then Landon trotted over. He bowed and explained to a young man who was wearing a famous brand of clothing and a gold watch.
That young man looked about twenty-five years old. His face was full of arrogance. He was wearing a famous brand and shaking his BMW keys in his hand to highlight his wealth.
Tom was surprised to see this young man because he recognized that this young man was also an acquaintance.
After a while, the young man looked over and looked at him with an excited smile on his face. His eyes lit up as if he had found an interesting prey. The corners of his mouth rose and he walked towards Tom.
Landon followed him and introduced, "Chase, this is Tom, Tom. We used to know each other."
The man called 'Chase' said in a strange tone, "I know him, Tom, the son-in-law of the Scotts. Who didn't know this big shot in the past?"
When Landon heard this, he was a little embarrassed. Afraid that Tom would be angry, he quickly introduced to Tom, "Tom, this is Chase, Chase. We used to know each other."
Tom nodded and said faintly, "Yes."
