The Wolf King's Luna novel Chapter 68

BLACKWATER PACK

DAMON

"Why?"

I questioned

"Just run" He kept insisting and I've come to trust my wolf that when it keeps insisting like this then there must be a reason.

I turned to Catherine who was tucked in bed, and whispered,

"Cathy, you can go to sleep. I'll be right back."

Her sleepy eyes gazed at me with a hint of concern.

"Where are you going?" she inquired softly.

"I need to go for a run," I replied, trying to sound calm, but the urgency in my voice was undeniable.

"This night?" Catherine's eyes widened in surprise.

"Yes, and now,"

I assured her before slipping out of the room. The insistent call of my wolf demanded immediate attention.

Stepping into the cool night air, the full moon's silvery glow enveloped me. The familiar pull to shift into my wolf form tugged at me, and I yielded to the transformation. As my form changed, the world took on new dimensions. My senses sharpened, and I began to run.

"Faster, Damon,"

My wolf urged me on, I pushed myself to run faster than ever before. With each strong step, the wind rushed past me, and the ground seemed to blur beneath my paws.

Then, while I was running, I felt an incredible surge of power rushing through me. It was like being surrounded by fire, but I didn't feel any pain—just an amazing, thrilling rush that I had never experienced before.

The sensation was extraordinary, unlike anything I had ever experienced. It was as if the very essence of the moonlit night had infused me with boundless strength and vitality. "What is happening?" I gasped, my breath mixing with the cool night air.

"That's one of the powers of a wolf king that you just harnessed," my wolf's voice resonated within me. Pride and ancient wisdom filled its words, adding to the awe-inspiring moment.

As the fiery torrent gradually subsided, I slowed my pace, coming to a stop in a small clearing bathed in the moon's ethereal glow. The intensity of the experience left me breathless, my senses reeling from the sheer magnitude of the power I had just tapped into.

"Wow! That was incredible" I said still gasping for air

"There's more to harness but it will take a gradual process." my wolf said.

After enjoying the cool breeze of the night, I went back to the pack house and met Catherine soundly sleeping. I hopped in bed and drifted off to sleep too.

I woke up the next morning, feeling determined after the events of the previous night. I needed to talk to the rest of the guys about the mating ceremony so I grabbed my phone and called Ryder.

"Hey, Ryder, reach out to Melissa, Faye, and my mum, I have something to discuss with you all," I said.

"Sure, Alpha. I'll gather everyone in the living room," Ryder replied.

I came down to the living room, with Cathy by my side, we all sat down, and I shared my idea.

"Come, sit," I said, and she gently sat down on the edge of the bed.

"You know I can tell when something is off with you, so don't lie to me, Cathy. What's wrong?" I asked her again.

"Damon, I just can't help but worry about the mating ceremony and everyone's safety. I just found my mum after years of living without her; what if a war breaks out and something happens to her? I don't want to put her in any form of danger," she said, pouring out her concerns. I could understand where she was coming from and her need to protect her mum.

"Cathy, we've gone over this before. Plans will be put in place in case anything happens. Your mum will be safe. I'll make sure to attach a guard to her personally if that puts you at ease," I tried to assure her.

"Really?" Her face lit up in excitement, a spark of hope shining in her eyes.

"Yes Cathy, I'll assign her a personal guard if that puts you at ease" I replied

"Thank you so much." she said, throwing her hands over my neck and pulling me in for a hug.

To my surprise, she released me from the hug and planted a kiss on my lips.

My eyes widened in shock!
