Like Jenny had guessed, the Walters and the Britts released a joint statement about the engagement before noon. The engagement event was slated a week later. Not only were the Walter Inc employees gossiping about it, but netizens were also discussing the news. Most sent their blessings to the couple.
In their eyes, the two families were a great match. Jolene would be marrying into wealth anyway, which was definitely better than becoming a corporate slave like the rest of them.
Jenny quickly glanced through the online comments and soon went back to work. It had been some time since her last successful business negotiation. During the period in between, she was occupied by non-work issues. If she didn't get started, her colleagues would think she came to work just to pass the time.
She poured through the information of clients in hand and hesitated on who to approach. Graham had introduced her to many of the contacts in events before, and she was sure they wouldn't turn her down. Still, she didn't like the low-effort process.
When she was deliberating, she got distracted by her ringing phone. Puzzled by the unknown number, she picked up anyway.
"Miss Walter." She heard an unfamiliar male voice from the other end.
"Who is this?"
"I'm Randy. Randy Glass, your cousin." He was dumbfounded by her reaction and wondered if he was easily forgettable. He even greeted her the last time they met.
"Randy Glass?" she thought. After a slight pause, she recalled the memory of meeting him and pieced together a vague impression.
"What's the matter?" She was neither interested in chatting with nor getting close to her cousin.
Her gaze sent shivers down his spine. He was terrified by her eyes that could read his mind. "What do you want to order?" he asked, failing to hold back anymore.
She smiled softly. "Anything will do. You can decide for me."
Randy called the waitress over and ordered a few signature dishes.
"Aren't you here to discuss the project with me? Tell me about it," she broke the silence and questioned him. He took out a proposal, looking prepared for the discussion. She received it and skimmed through the contents.
Smiling, Jenny asked, "Oh, didn't you just win the South City Development Project bid? Why would you be so generous with the partnership offer?"

Loved the novel!! Hated the ending. It felt rushed to get it finished. I hope there is a sequel. There is a ton of potential for one....
The adds are getting worse! I shouldn't have to see porn to read a book...
