Suddenly, Emma laughed sardonically as if she had envisioned Melody's and Ella's death by her hand.

"Damn you all to hell! Hahahaha."

Viola was in her bedroom on the second floor. The bedroom door remained open so she was able to hear the commotion downstairs. She was curious and went out to check what was happening.

Peering from on top of the staircase, she saw a woman chasing Ella and Melody with a fruit knife in her hand.

She freaked out and froze. It was Emma. What was she going to do?

Ella dragged Melody to hide behind the sofa and stood in front of her, in a protective stance. Seeing Emma approaching her, Ella steadied herself, "Emma, what do you want? Talk to me." She would give her everything except Samuel.

At the same time, Melody, hiding behind Ella, picked up the phone from the table and dialled 110.

Emma saw what Melody's was doing. She growled and lunged towards them.

The knife pointed at Melody. Ella was afraid that grandma may get hurt, so she used her arm to stop the impact. As a result, Emma ended up slashing Ella on the arm.

The pain locked Ella into a speechless state. Melody saw that Ella had been slashed and panicked. The phone dropped to the floor.

"Ella, are you okay?"

She hurried to Ella, wanting to check the cuts.

Emma saw Melody approach Ella. She wielded the knife towards her, without giving them any breathing space.

Seeing Emma moving towards Melody, Ella took an ashtray beside her and threw it at her. But Emma dodged it. As a result, Emma stood still, breathing heavily and watching them.

Viola finally figured out what was happening and panicked. She had to do something. She immediately ran back to her bedroom and called 110.

Then she called Samuel as she hurried downstairs, "Samuel, come back quickly. Something terrible has happened."

His heart missed a beat. He had never heard his Mum's voice sound like that. Her voice was trembling and she was panicking.

After putting down the phone, he put his coat on and rushed out of his office, leaving other executives in the meeting room, confused as to what had happened.

At the old house.

After she finished speaking to Samuel, Viola flung her phone to a nearby couch, "Emma, what has happened to you? Drop that knife NOW!"

Viola knew there was no use talking sense to Emma. She looked deranged and disoriented.

She continued to thrust the knife at Melody, swiftly and without mercy.

After several vain attempts, Emma got pissed off and aimed at Melody's back. Mustering all her strength, she was going to stab her.

Quick as lightning, a shadow flitted over. It was Ella again who quickly stood in front of Melody. This time the knife penetrated Ella's stomach.

Time stood still as Viola dropped down on the sofa, screaming.

Emma saw the blood staining Ella's blouse and was jolted out of her reverie. She stood motionless where she was.

"Ella!" Melody cried out, her voice was hoarse and cracked.

Ella was shocked by the knife in her stomach. She was lost in thought. Was she going to die? Even if she died, she would not let Emma hurt grandma. Grandma had always treated her well. To her, no price was too high to pay for the kindness grandma had shown to her, not even her life.

She clenched her teeth and gathered all her strength to draw the knife out of her stomach. Warm blood spurted onto the floor, as Ella reached out with her other hand to staunch the flow.
