At some point, Katherine felt she was only overthinking and that her mind was only playing tricks on her. With her eyes on Ollie, carefully watching every step he took, She had no idea when she lost track of the conversation she was making with Jess, her mother's childhood friend.
Seeing that Oliver was just a few steps away from Lewis's table, Katherine snapped out of her thoughts after which she excused herself from Jess.
Despite the heels she was putting on, She tried to take fast steps while being careful not to trip and fall but Oliver still got to the table before her.
Lewis was busy typing away on his phone with a small smile on his face. The moment he noticed someone was seated before him, he raised his head, and seeing that it wasn't the love of his life, he spoke. "Sorry, but someone is there."
"We need to talk," Ollie said in a commanding tone, pretending not to hear what he said.
Lewis frowned at the stranger who was well-dressed in a suit. What amused him the more was the fact that his tone came out bossy. Even though his face looked kind of familiar, he doubted that they'd met before.
"Sorry?!" Lewis said with a small frown.
"You heard me. Do you prefer we discuss here or go to a more quiet place?"
"Talk? About what? I don't know you and what do you want to talk about?"
"Wait, did Natasha send you?" Lewis asked, staring at the stranger curiously. He hasn't heard from her for days now and that scared him that she might strike when he least expected it.
"Oh, I see. So you are well aware of your sins?"
"Don't take me for a fool, stranger! I won't allow you to sit there and judge me when you know nothing about me."
"You don't even know what I'm about to say and yet you're being so defensive."
"Hi, babe," Katherine's voice came through when she finally approached the duo. She knew they had already started making conversations and with the look on their faces, most especially on Lewis's face, She could tell it wasn't a happy conversation. And she prayed Ollie hadn't spilled any tea about her.
Seeing that he had occupied the chair she was to sit on, Katherine went over to where Lewis was seated, placed a soft kiss on his lips, and sat on his lap.
"Honey, do you know him?" Lewis asked Kathie, trying to hide his anxiety.
"No, I don't. He's probably one of Beatrice's guests." She replied without any emotion.
Oliver shook his head with a small smile playing at the corner of his lips.
"You both haven't told each other the truth, huh?"
Katherine threw Oliver a nasty glare.
"I have a good heart and pure intentions and because of that, I've taken it upon myself to shed light on the situation on ground."
"Don't you try any bullshit with me and my fiance."
"How well do you trust him?"
"And how does that got to do with you?" Lewis attacked him. At this point, his breathing wasn't normal because he feared that anything could happen. But trust Lewis not to show his weakness to a total stranger.
"Would you tell her the truth yourself or I should do it for you?"
"What truth?" She asked, facing Lewis.
"I....I don't know what he's talking about."
"Look, Oliver, enough of the playing around. I won't let you come here and destroy everything I've built over the years. Neither do you have the right to talk to my fiance rudely or play pranks. Just respect yourself and leave here after the wedding."
"I thought you had no idea who I was?"
"Did she tell you about how we almost fucked yesterday?"
Katherine stared at Oliver in disbelief with wide eyes and parted lips. He had said it before that he was going to ruin her but she didn't know he could stoop so low to actually keep to his word.
Ignoring her stare, Oliver spoke, not giving a fuck if he was being petty as far as it was to get what he wanted.
