Harry Shelman was Pete's father. His two precious sons were currently at odds against each other because of me. He probably felt torn between them as he loved them both greatly.
Harry knew Silas and Pete were close. So, he wanted to ask Silas if there was any other way for him to punish Pete without being overly harsh on him.
He did want to punish Silas and discipline him for his behavior, but he couldn't bear to be too harsh on him.
When I received Silas' message, I immediately knew I had to show up in front of Harry with Nicholas.
I was the main reason behind Harry's anger. However, Nicholas' presence would not make much of a difference if he knew I got back together with Nicholas.
With a plan in mind, I left the house and even smiled at Nicholas as we went out.
To not raise his suspicions, I intentionally kept where we were going a secret and had even driven us there myself. I owed Pete too much. I was willing to do whatever it took as long as there was hope.
"Vinzo Bites?" Nicholas immediately knew where we were the second he got out of the car. "This is one of the Shelman's family businesses."
I had been keeping an eye on Nicholas' expression, so I had noticed when the amusement on his face disappeared when he said that sentence.
"Oh." I pretended to be nonchalant as I opened my car door. "I didn't know. Yasmine suggested this place to me. Why don't we go somewhere else instead?"
However, Nicholas had always been thoughtful and considerate. He did not have it in him to leave after having the waiter open the door for him.
Our seats were right at the center of the restaurant, whereas Silas and Pete were sitting in one of the corners. They were discussing something, so they needed privacy. However, I needed all the attention.
To express my "apologies", I had purposely ordered some of Nicholas' favorite dishes. Only then did his tense expression relax slightly.
While waiting for our food, I went to the piano by the side and began running my fingers over the different keys.
Vinzo Bites was a high-class restaurant, so it was rare for someone to play so badly on the piano. But by doing so, I had managed to attract the attention of several people.
