I faked my surprise as I stepped up and waved at Harry warmly. Harry's body tensed up a little when he saw me, but I turned a blind eye to it.
I gave him a small hug, just like how I usually would when I was young, before tactfully standing back behind Nicholas. My actions were smooth and flawless, while my gaze was pure and innocent.
It was almost as if Pete and I were purely friends like there was nothing more than friendship between us.
When I grabbed Nicholas' arm and looked at him, I realized the amusement on his expression had faded as he looked at me coldly.
His gaze was cunning and collected like a poisonous snake, hiding all his emotions behind.
I smiled at him and said, "Harry has always treated me well since I was young. Why don't we treat Harry to a meal? Is that alright with you?"
Nicholas looked at me coldly, no longer hiding his dissatisfaction. At that moment, his gaze felt like a sharp knife stabbing into my body.
Silas noticed that there was something wrong between Nicholas and I. So, he chimed in and said, "Mr. Shelman and I have just finished our discussion. Since that's the case, then I won't disturb your small reunion."
"Honey, could you take care of Harry for me? I'll walk Mr. Harmon out on Harry's behalf."
Harry did not bring a secretary with him and needed someone to walk Silas out. Hence, my proposition was neither abrupt nor out of place.
I didn't know if it was because I had rubbed his arm gently, or if it was because I had called him "Honey", but Nicholas' cold expression had warmed slightly.
He gently patted my hands and said somewhat gently, "Come back quickly. You just need to walk him to the restaurant's door."
Although he was talking to me, his gaze was fixed on Silas. He didn't want me to go too far, nor did he want me to be alone with Silas.
I felt nervous, and I couldn't help but shiver when I felt the wind blow against me.
