Nick lunged forward and gripped the doctor's white coat collar tightly. "What did you say? Say it again!"

The doctor sighed before repeating helplessly, "My condolences."

Nick's hands shook, his throat tightening. He wanted to question further, but words were stuck in his chest, unable to be spoken or swallowed. He shoved the man aside and charged toward the operating room like a madman.

The doctor, who had not reacted when Nick grabbed his collar, suddenly blocked his path with outstretched arms.

"Sir, you can't go in!"

"Move!" Nick's eyes were red, not bothering to argue.

"Sir, Ms. Jones doesn't want to see you!"

Nick froze. "Do you know who I am?" The doctor nodded. Of course, he knew who this man was, and that was precisely why Nick could not enter.

He stubbornly repeated, "You can't go in!"

Nick laughed coldly, his eyes sweeping over the doctor contemptuously. Ignoring him, he lowered his head and tried to force his way through.

The doctor frowned. He had heard that the CEO of Hawk Corporation was modest and refined, but this man before him was different. But then again, the pain of losing a child could drive anyone to lose control.

In moments, the two men were physically grappling. As they clashed silently in the hospital, the desperate man refused to back down. The doctor was slammed against the operating room door.

The crowd was moved. Soon, a path cleared before Nick. The doctor approached, looking down at him. "If you promise to leave quietly, nod, and I'll have them release you."

Nick went still. He slowly closed his eyes, his eyelids trembling. "I'm her husband. My wife is in there. What right do you have to keep me out?"

He suddenly started struggling again, which nearly threw off those holding him down.

"Get off me!" he roared. The doctor remained calm while saying flatly, "As I understand it, you just got divorced."

"Ah!" He let out a wail, overwhelmed by immense grief. Just as he was about to speak, the operating room door opened again.

His gaze traveled up from the floor. He saw bare feet touching the ground, then trousers stained with blood on the inner thigh…
