It was the day for another ultrasound scan for Grace.
She had been pregnant for almost two and a half months and her morning sickness was getting more intense. While she still had an appetite, she often vomited after she ate.
The symptoms this time seemed to be a little stronger than her last pregnancy.
She was worried that the ultrasound would affect her foetus' growth, which was why she insisted on having the ultrasound only after she had been pregnant for some time.
Heinz was also a little too overprotective of her during this period.
Of course, he didn't sleep well at all throughout this time as he was busy taking care of her.
Sometimes, he had to control himself hard from doing the inscrutable things that he wanted to do with Grace.
For the sake of the baby in her tummy, he could only hold in his urge.
God knew that he needed to release all the pent up tension. If not, he would go mad from it.
Grace was accustomed to going to sleep with Heinz every night. Every time they slept, she would snuggle close to him.
However, he couldn't do anything he wanted, and for him, that was just pure torture.
Grace had woken up to see a pair of hunger-filled eyes that were full of desire for her these days. Heinz looked like he wanted to devour and eat her up.
Every time she saw that gaze, she found it amusing but pitiful that Heinz had to keep his desires to himself.
She had asked him to sleep in the guest room several times before but he refused every time. He always said, "You're pregnant and I want to stay with you. I want to be with you when things become difficult for you during this pregnancy, as I know that it won't be easy. If you can go through it, so can I."
She was utterly touched when she heard that.
At the same time, she couldn't do anything about it and could only follow along.
Early that morning, they both sent the children to kindergarten and went to the hospital for an examination.
They already had an appointment with the doctor.
Grace had her blood drawn, then they headed for the ultrasound examination.
She did not know if she was pregnant with just a baby or twins. All she knew was that the doctor told her that she had a high level of HCG the last time she had her blood drawn, and the doctor inferred that she may be pregnant with twins. Having known that, Grace was excited, but she kept her excitement in to see the results that day.
She looked forward to having another pair of twins. She would be satisfied living with four children.
If it was really twins, she thought to herself that she wouldn't have to go through another pregnancy anymore. But then again, fate had a way of playing out. She wondered and thought about it as she laid nervously on the bed, waiting to see her ultrasound results.
The moment the sonographer put the machine on her belly, Grace's heart jumped a little. This time, the feelings she felt were different than the time she had Little Gary and Ernest.
That time, she was extremely uneasy and felt fearful.
But now, she was looking forward to it.
She gently closed her eyes and waited for the result.
"Ah!" the sonographer shouted in surprise.
