True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1375

Ernest was stunned and completely shocked by Maria's words. How could she say something like that to the man she liked?

He looked deeply at Maria. His eyes gave her a reminder and a warning. If she persisted, Liam would hate her for sure.

However, Maria completely ignored Ernest's look. She still had an indifferent attitude.

Hearing Maria's words, Liam frowned as his handsome face turned cold.

The atmosphere was a little awkward, and the air between them felt heavy.

There was no other way as Ernest didn't want Maria to be sad.

He quickly tried to defuse the situation, "Liam, Maria was just trying to say that it's not good for you in case you meet a mindless fangirl."

However, Liam only shot them a wry smile "Ms. Lowe is right. I don't have any fame. Ernest, you don't need to comfort me. I can handle it."

For a moment, Ernest didn't know what to say. Hence, he could only smile and look at Maria again.

Maria was stunned. She looked at Liam and scoffed, "Mr. Robinson, so you still remember that my last name is Lowe."

Liam was startled. He looked at Maria as a subtle light flashed in his eyes.

Was she taking revenge on him?

Last time at the airport, he didn't remember her surname. After correcting him, she forcibly kissed him back then.

Now, she had to be taking revenge against him, right?

This girl seemed to be hostile towards him. It was subtle but strong.

Liam had too many worries, and he stopped caring about such things long ago.

Looking at Maria, Liam said politely, "I'm sorry. I forgot about it last time, but it won't happen again."

Maria originally said that on purpose, but she didn't expect that Liam would take the initiative to apologize. She didn't know what to say at the moment, so she turned around and looked elsewhere.

However, there was an indescribable sorrow in her heart. Wasn't Liam's mood bad because of what she said? It had to be! After all, he had even apologized to her.

She made things difficult for him, yet he was still able to apologize. She was too embarrassed to say anything else.

"I'm sorry," Maria finally confessed to Liam, "I did it on purpose just now."

Liam looked at the girl who was avoiding his gaze At that moment, Maria turned back and looked at him.

Liam smiled, "You're right."

When he smiled, his eyes were calm. However, his expression looked desolate and weary.

Even if he tried to cover it up, he would not be able to hide it completely.

People were still able to notice his fatigue at once. He was really having it tough recently.

For some reason, Maria also had a heavy feeling in her chest. She was truly concerned about him.

Her dark eyes were fixed on Liam. She looked at the man who was forcing a smile. She felt bitter and a little suffocated.

After a while, she chuckled.

This time, the smile on her face was sincere, warm and bright.

Looking at the man's lonely and tired face, she tried to encourage him, "You will come back strong and reach the peak. You will be able to do it."

Liam had no expression on his face. After listening to Maria, he just pushed his sunglasses up his nose and shrugged.

"I know. Of course I can."

After that, he went to help Ernest with the luggage and did not look at Maria anymore.

Maria was stunned and didn't move for a long time.

She just looked at Liam and saw that he had personally helped Ernest pack his luggage. He looked very down-to-earth and didn't look like an idol at all.

He even picked up her purple luggage.

After packing up, Liam closed the trunk and shot a look at Ernest and Maria, "Get in the car. Let's go grab something to eat first. Is that okay?"

"Of course," Ernest grinned, "I haven't been back for years. Liam knows where the quiet and delicious restaurants are. Take us there."

Originally, he intended to give Maria and Liam some opportunities to be alone out of pity.

"I do know some good places," Liam said while driving.

Ernest opened the passenger side door and got in the car, sitting with Liam in the front.

Meanwhile, Maria sat in the back of the car behind Ernest. In that position, she could see Liam's side profile and his expression.

Instead of bringing a driver with him, Liam was driving on his own.

Maria didn't know if it was because Liam's driver had been taken away by the company or because he had no work and nothing to do now, hence explaining the lack of the need for a driver.
