True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1651

The next day, they all gathered at six o'clock in the evening, London time.

Gary and Celeste had just got off work, while Ernest came from his classes. They held a welcome dinner for Liam.

The butler busied himself all afternoon to make lots of delicious food.

All five of them sat down at the table together.

Liam and Maria were seated together.

Celeste and Gary sat next to each other.

And between the two couples was Ernest.

Gary said, "When are you going to bring your girlfriend over to London? That way, you don't have to endure a long-distance relationship."

Ernest shot him a smile and said, "Gary, you're only in London for a month. Half a month has already passed, so you'll be flying back to the United States soon, right? I think you'd better worry about yourself first."

Gary was stunned, but then he shrugged and replied, "You're right. It seems that we're destined to be separated for some time."

"Can you not be so negative?" Maria piped up. "We've just reunited, yet you're already talking about separation. You're dampening my happiness."

After a moment's surprise, everyone smiled at what she had just said.

Liam passed Maria a hot drink and said, "Here, drink something."

"Okay, thank you," she replied sweetly, her expression and tone softening immediately.

Gary and Celeste looked at each other and smiled.

Ernest smiled too. "Liam, it's a good thing you came. If you hadn't, we'd never get to see such a kind and considerate side of Maria."

Upon hearing that, Maria stuck out her tongue at Ernest.

Liam smiled dotingly, then asked, "Ernest, is Leah your girlfriend?"

With just a simple question, he had switched the focus to Ernest, who nodded.

"Do you know Ernest's girlfriend?" Gary asked Liam curiously.

Liam nodded. "We've met a few times. She and Maria got along rather well. Isn't that right, Maria?" "Yes," Maria responded. "Leah is great. She has a great personality, and she's very beautiful. If she ends up marrying Ernest, that would be a wonderful thing for us. We three girls will have a blast together."

"I have to thank Maria for that," Ernest continued. "If she hadn't introduced Leah, I'd never have gotten to know her."

"So, does that mean I was the matchmaker for you and Leah?" she asked with a smile.

Ernest nodded. "Yes, you're our matchmaker."

"That's great. If the two of you really end up marrying, I'll be happy knowing I had a part in it," Maria replied happily.

Liam turned around and asked her, "Was Leah the one who wrote the book you asked me to read?"

"You... How did you know about that?" Maria looked at him in surprise. "I never told you that Leah was Reaper."

"It was just a guess," Liam answered. "I read the book. It's really good."

"Did you?" Maria asked, perking up immediately. "Did you read every word carefully?"

"Yes. I still haven't finished it," Liam said.

"That's great. It'll be adapted into a screenplay soon. I'll give it to you once I have it." Maria smiled as she put down her cup.

"That's fast," Liam remarked with surprise.

"Not at all. I thought that you wouldn't terminate your contract so soon, so I didn't rush it. But now, the script is almost done. Since you've successfully terminated your contract, it's only natural to start looking for new projects. I've been preparing this for you in secret," she replied with a somewhat embarrassed smile.

Ernest looked at Liam calmly and said, "Liam, you might not know about this, but she has had this idea for quite some time. She wanted to get you a role in a TV show after you terminated the contract and propel you to fame."

Liam knew a little about her plans, but he was still shocked when he heard what Ernest said.

"During summer break, she went to find Leah to buy the TV rights of the book, then had it adapted," Ernest continued. When he glanced at Maria, she shot him a warning look.

Ernest shook his head, laughing. "What? Now that Liam has terminated his contract, there's nothing to hide."

Maria pouted, feeling a little embarrassed.

Gary chimed in, "Everyone knows what you've been planning for Liam. We know everything that you've been doing for him. There's nothing to be embarrassed about, Maria." "That's right. You've always been paying attention to Liam's affairs, and worrying about his career. Now that you two are together, we're really happy for you," Celeste added.

Liam smiled and looked at Maria tenderly.

That made her feel even more embarrassed.

"Maria is my benefactor," Liam said gently, not bothering to hide the emotions behind his words at all.

The news made him uneasy.

Although Ernest was not involved, he knew that Gary was the one who revealed Cindy's scandal. Now that he found out Cindy was attempting to contact Celeste, it made him worried too.

All of them looked at Celeste and waited for her to answer the call.

Once the call was connected, Celeste asked in a foreign language, "Who is this?"

There was no sound from the other end, nor did anyone speak. The room was silent. She had put the call on speakerphone so that everyone could listen to it. Suddenly, they heard a long, deep sigh.

If she had answered the call in the middle of the night without anyone by her side, she would have been frightened out of her wits.

It was a strange and terrifying phone call.

She spoke again, "Who are you? Speak up!"

There was no sound.

In the past, Celeste would hang up the call whenever she heard something like this.

However, guessing that the call was from Cindy, she did not hang up. She said, "Who are you? You've called me several times. What on earth do you want? I think I know who you are. Cindy, is that you?"

As soon as she said that, she seemed to hear a sneer coming from the other end. It was a soft sound, but loud enough for her to tell that it was a woman.

She frowned slightly. "Why are you sneering?"

All of a sudden, an unfamiliar, hoarse voice said, "I want you to die." It was bone-chilling and strange.

She could not tell whether the voice belonged to a man or a woman.

She could not help but suck in a deep breath.

She clenched her phone tightly.

Upon hearing the threat, Gary's entire body turned cold. He quickly reached out and grabbed her hand. His warm hand seemed to reassure and encourage her.

Celeste's chest tightened, terrified of the creepy voice.

"Ha ha ha! I want you to die. I'll pester you until you die," the voice said, sounding even stranger. It was unfamiliar, hoarse, and filled with a bloodthirsty coldness.

Celeste was shocked, but she pursed her lips and smiled suddenly. She retorted boldly, "You've revealed your identity just by speaking in your native language. Cindy, I know you're up to something. You're using a type of software to change your voice, aren't you? Do you want me to die? Do you think you can do that?"
