True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1957

"It's your fault for bringing me here. See, Ernest is looking for us already." Celeste was feeling extremely embarrassed.

They came here to stargaze together, yet the two of them were nowhere to be found mid- way through.

She felt like they had been found out and caught red-handed.

Gary smirked and said, "It's nothing. Do you really think they behaved any better than us?"

Hearing his conviction, Celeste blushed even more. She pushed him away and inhaled deeply as if she was gathering her courage. "Let's go."

Gary once again laughed. "Before that, I should still answer the call first. Otherwise, they'd only worry more."

That was true.

Celeste blushed even more at his words.

She could only say, "Answer it then."

The phone was still ringing. It seemed that Ernest was a little anxious because no one was answering the phone.

Gary immediately picked up the phone and heard Ernest's anxious voice saying, "Gary, where are you and Celeste? Why didn't you answer us? Are you alright?"

"We're fine," Gary immediately replied.

"Glad to hear that. You had me worried for a while," Ernest said.

After all, it was late at night. If something terrible happened, it would be very difficult to look for them in the darkness.

However, Gary continued to tease him, "Celeste and I didn't want to disturb you two, that's why we walked away. We'll head back up to the deck now."

Ernest could tell that Gary made full use of the opportunity and still chose to tease him.

After making sure that they were fine, Ernest was relieved. He laughed. "Gary, it sounds more like Leah and I disturbed you two instead. Wasn't that the reason why you chose to go somewhere we can't find you?"

Gary immediately cleared his throat.

Celeste also heard what Ernest said and was overwhelmed with shyness.

Why were the brothers teasing each other about that?

Gary was the one who started it.

Celeste pinched him.

Gary immediately sucked in a breath of cold air.

Ernest heard it and smiled. "Did I call you at the wrong timing?"

Gary was startled at the question.

Celeste was dumbfounded too.

Gary reacted quickly and denied it, "Of course not. How will I have the time to answer your call if I'm doing something?"

Ernest smiled but didn't answer. Obviously, he didn't believe it.

Gary stopped joking and said, "Just wait there. Celeste and I will join you soon."

"You don't have to rush. Leah and I have nothing but patience. Take your time," Ernest said generously.

Gary stopped smiling and said, "Thank you for your patience, but Celeste and I don't need it. We'll see you in five minutes."

After that, he ended the call.

Celeste looked at him dejectedly. "How can I walk there in five minutes?"

"I'll help you over," Gary said, "Or I can carry you there."

"Even so, five minutes won't be enough," Celeste mumbled.

She was too sore to move any faster than a snail's pace.

"Let's go." Gary grabbed her arm and supported her.

Leah and Ernest were still on the top of the mountain.

They have been waiting there for a long time.

According to their plan, they should be leaving the mountain in half an hour, yet Gary and Celeste were nowhere to be found.

They shouted their names a couple of times and there wasn't any response at all. They were worried.

Fortunately, they got through to Gary. They were relieved after the phone call.

Leah asked, "What do you think they were up to while they were away?"

"Do you even have to ask?" Ernest chuckled as he answered, "Definitely something inappropriate."

"That's true." Leah pouted. "He was teasing you yet he must have done the same thing with Celeste too."

"He has always been like this." Ernest laughed. "But you're right, he must have teased me because he knew we were doing the same thing too."
