True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1981

"Celeste." Gary finally called out her name. That was a name that made his heart ache greatly.

He felt that he was not worthy of even saying her name anymore.

Celeste's heart lurched. She could sense how troubled Gary's tone was at that moment.

She answered with a short mumble, and a bad feeling rose from her heart.

"Celeste." Gary tried to call Celeste's name once more.

Celeste responded again, she waited for him to speak.

"I!" After he said that, Gary was at a loss for words.

"If there is anything you want to say, just say it." Celeste already had a hunch of what he wanted to say, so she quickly adjusted her mood.

"Celeste, forget it. I'm fine." Gary still did not have the courage to break up with her.

He could not bear to do that at all.

After all, Celeste had not done anything wrong. He was the one who made a mistake.

He really felt bad while facing Celeste. Back then, he was the one who looked for her and asked for getting back together, and he was the one who was going to ask for a break up again then. Even he felt ashamed of that.

"Gary," Celeste whispered, "Is there anything you want to tell me? Just say it."

"It's nothing, Celeste. I just miss you." In the end, Gary still did not break up with her.

However, Celeste could already feel the unspoken words from his tone.

Ever since she received the phone call, Celeste felt a bad feeling emerging from within. She felt that Gary and her were destined to experience a lot.

Gary's trip to Boston must surely be beyond his expectations too.

Celeste paused for a moment before she said in a soft tone, "I miss you too."

Gary did not say anything. After a long while, he spoke in an upset tone, "Celeste, I have something to do. I will talk to you later."

"Okay," Celeste could not hold back anymore. She told him, "Hurry up and do what you have to do. If there is anything you really want to say to me, you can tell me about it later."

Celeste thought that Gary wanted to talk to her about Janice and her child. At that moment, she was not expecting Gary to bring up breaking up with her.

Gary hung up the phone, and with that, he entered the ward.

Janice was lying alone on the bed. When she saw him entering the room, she smiled immediately. "Gary, you're here."

Gary stared at her coldly. There was no warmth in his eyes at all. He was like a walking corpse. He walked in and stood by the bed as he looked down at her.

Janice looked up at him and forced a smile. "I've already changed my statement as promised. Lowell should be freed already, right?"

"Janice," Gary said in a deep voice.

"Yes?" Janice immediately raised her head and looked into Gary's eyes, expecting him to be gentler to her.

After all, she had just suffered a miscarriage.

A woman was most vulnerable at that point in time.

"You can be my girlfriend," Gary spoke in a low voice, "But I will never touch you."

Janice was taken aback. A tinge of pain welled up in her heart, and she looked at Gary in disbelief. "What do you mean by that?"

"We will not be a real couple," Gary said in a deep voice.

Janice took a deep breath and said, "You mean that we will just pretend to be a couple, and that we won't have any contact or be intimate at all, right?"

"That's right," Gary replied expressionlessly.

"Then what's the point of having a boyfriend?" Janice retorted.

"You deserve that," Gary said in a cold way, "Besides that, I won't give you anything. This is just for show. Anyway, I will still give you what must be given."
