True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1982

Janice was left alone in the ward. She watched blankly as Gary left without even looking back. He told her that he would find a nurse for her, and he left after saying just that. He was so cold-hearted that it would make one gasp.

As for her, she didn't know what else she could do apart from crying.

Tears streamed down her face. Janice bit her lip so hard that blood oozed out.

She did not make a sound. She only closed her eyes and gasped for air, her chest rose and fell heavily.

The whole ward was extremely quiet, and she silently shed tears as she gasped for breath.

Gary came out from the ward and went straight back to the apartment.

Lester and Lowell also returned as well.

When he saw them, Gary heaved a sigh of relief.

Lowell was very puzzled. He walked up to Gary and asked, "What did you do? Why did Janice suddenly change her statement?"

Gary looked at him and asked, "What could I do?" Lowell was stunned. His eyes were still filled with suspicion. He felt that Gary was too calm. The calmness he showed was all too surprising.

Lowell suspected that Gary must have done something so that Janice would change her statement. Otherwise, it would be impossible for her to change it that way.

"Then why did Janice suddenly change her statement?" Lowell asked again.

"I don't know," Gary said in a deep voice. No one could hear anything wrong with his tone.

"There's something fishy about this matter." Lester continued, "She had a strong case in hand, but she changed her statement all of a sudden. She would never have done that for no reason. Something must have happened. Master Gary, did you really not do anything?"

"No." Gary repeated the same thing.

Lester looked at Gary deeply and nodded. "Okay, I will go back first. If anything happens, remember to let me know in time."

"Thank you, Mr. Lester." Gary thanked him.

"My pleasure," Lester said.

With that, he left hurriedly.

After that, only Lowell and Gary were left in the apartment.

The two of them looked at each other, Lowell then looked at Gary seriously and asked again, "Tell me the truth, did you reach an agreement with Janice?"

"No." Gary raised his sharp eyebrows, his eyes were still as calm as ever.

"Don't hide it from me. I am telling you, you still have Celeste. Don't do anything silly."

"I plan to break up with Celeste." Gary looked at Lowell as he said softly and calmly.

However, when he finished saying that sentence, his eyelashes fluttered lightly, as if it took him a lot of effort to say those words.

Lowell took a deep breath and said, "Why... why? That is not necessary at all. I think that Celeste is an understanding person. Besides, you are not the one at fault here. You were schemed by Janice. I think that if you explain this matter clearly to Celeste, she would understand it and she would not break up with you."

"No." Gary shook his head. "I understand Celeste. I know her well."

"You must work hard then," Lowell said, "Why don't you give it a try? Perhaps she isn't willing to break up with you either."

"Even I feel dirty right now." Gary laughed bitterly. "I think I am destined to lose her."

Lowell's heart tightened. He felt extremely vexed as he stared at Gary's lonely eyes.

"Well then, you should wash yourself up and get some sleep." Gary glanced at Lowell and said, "I am going to sleep."

"Okay." Lowell did not say anything more. The two of them returned to their respective rooms after that.

However, Gary could not fall asleep no matter how hard he tried. He took out his phone several times, wanting to call Celeste, but when he scrolled towards her number, he paused as he stared at the screen.
