True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1984

Gary's body stiffened as he forced himself to acknowledge her and said yes. After that, he did not say anything anymore.

Celeste could clearly feel his body trembling, and she found his silence terrifying.

She did not know how to ask another question.

She wanted to ask him, but she was afraid of the answer that she would get. She feared that she would not be able to accept the news that she feared.

Celeste had never felt so uncomfortable but calm at the same time before.

Gary was still hugging Celeste. The two of them stood at the door and hugged each other for another while.

Celeste allowed him to hug her so tightly, and she did not say a word. The two of them stood there without moving, as if they were statues.

When the door to the next room opened, Ernest saw Gary standing at the door with Celeste in his embrace. He was shocked.

"Oh, Gary, you are back." Ernest looked at them for a while and found that there was still no sign of them wanting to let go, he suspected that they were both stunned silly.

It had only been a few days. Did they really miss each other so much?

The moment he spoke, the two of them who were still dumbfounded came back to their senses.

Gary let go of Celeste gently and he turned around to look at Ernest. He glanced at him coldly, as if he was repulsed by Ernest's sudden appearance, even more so for him interrupting Gary's affectionate embrace with Celeste.

"Cough cough cough!" Ernest cleared his throat, he looked at Gary with hesitation. It had only been a few days, but Gary seemed to have lost weight already.

He frowned and said immediately, "Gary, you seem to have gotten thinner. Haven't you had a good sleep these days?"

"Really?" Gary replied indifferently. "I guess so."

"That's right, such a long and abrupt travel is bound to leave an impact on you," Ernest said, "Good thing you are back. I will ask the butler to prepare more food for you. You will be back to normal in a few days."

"Go back to your room." Gary seemed to dislike Ernest's concern, and he was already urging him

to leave.

Ernest looked at Gary, his eyes were filled with accusations.

Was there really a need for him to be so heartless?

He was just concerned about him, yet Gary was so impatient of him and wanted him to leave.

That did not seem normal.

Ernest shrugged and said, "Gary, it seems like your trip was not so smooth."

When he heard that, Gary frowned in an instant, the aura surrounding him changed too.

Celeste's expression also changed, and she looked at Gary blankly.

Ernest could feel that there was something wrong with the atmosphere.

He glanced at his brother suspiciously, then he looked at Celeste with a sense of confusion in his eyes, "Was it really not a smooth trip?"

"Go back to your room," Gary said in a cold way.

If that went on, Gary would not be able to hide it anymore. Celeste was probably already suspicious of him then.

She was already looking at him with suspicion.

Ernest nodded. "Okay, I will go back to my room."

Just as he was about to enter the room, Leah came out and blocked his path again. She did not let Ernest in. Instead, she poked her head out and looked at Gary and Celeste.

"Wow, Gary's back. That's great. How was your trip?" Leah greeted Gary with a smile.

His words almost got Gary stunned again.

He looked at Ernest, and then at Leah. He wondered if he had a feud with the two of them. Were they there to cause trouble for him intentionally?

Gary paused for a moment, then he spoke, "It was good."

"Since it went so well, then why did you look so neurotic when I asked you just now? I even thought your trip did not go well." Ernest complained.

Gary frowned again.

Leah laughed and said, "Good thing everything went well. We were so worried. It must have been a smooth journey, since you are back so soon."

"Since he is already back, then we should have a gathering. Liam and Maria will be leaving tonight," Ernest said.

Gary thought for a moment and he actually nodded and agreed.

He said, "I am going to take a shower and have a change of clothes first. I'll go down right after that."

Everyone was stunned, even Celeste. All of them thought that Gary seemed different.

Usually, when they were separated for so long, they would want nothing more than to spend time with each other on their own. However, that day, he was so cooperative with them that he agreed to have a gathering with them.

Celeste felt really surprised too.

Ernest and Leah looked at each other, they both thought that Gary was acting strange.

Gary nodded slightly, then he entered the room.

Celeste could only follow him.

When Ernest and Leah returned to their room, Leah immediately asked him, "What do you think?"

"I don't know." Ernest shook his head. "Who knows what's going on? It seemed like he has come across some trouble, but he wouldn't tell us about it."

"I just find it strange," Leah whispered, "They are such a loving couple, and they have been separated for several days. Didn't they say that the hearts would grow fonder? Shouldn't they want to be together after reuniting? Why isn't Gary in a hurry to spend time with her at all? How could he want to come down to hang out with us instead?"
