True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 774

He was not too shabby himself. He was a young, slim, and dapper- looking man. Candace looked at him for a moment with squinted eyes.

The three of them felt her presence almost as soon as she appeared in the corners.

All three of them looked up at her simultaneously.

As a policeman, Jensen had sharp eyes. He glanced at the stairs on the second floor and met Candace's gaze; she was sizing him up.

Jensen stood up out of courtesy, but he was also sizing her up.

Heinz, who also caught sight of Candace, stood up as well.

Zachary followed suit as all three of them looked at her.

"Aunt Candace, Heinz is here," Zachary said as he looked at Candace who was standing at the corner of the stairs. "This is Officer Charm, Jensen Charm. He's Alice's boyfriend," he added.

Candace, who was taken by surprise, frowned as she looked at Jensen and went on to nod a little as she stared at him. Shortly after, she made her way down the stairs.

She looked at Heinz and then Jensen as she processed what she had just learned. Alice's boyfriend caught her off guard. What's more, he was a policeman.

A poor policeman.

Candace frowned as she walked up to them.

Her gaze alternated between Heinz and Jensen several times.

"Hello," she smiled as she greeted them.

Heinz on the other hand was sizing her up himself. She was a middle-aged woman who did not look very old and had some makeup on. She had a very good complexion, even with the face powder she had on.

On top of that, she had a slim figure that had a naturally elegant demeanor.

It was evident which of her two parents whom Grace and Alice took after. Grace was the spitting image of Candace.

"Hello, Madam Lowe," Heinz nodded and greeted her.

"Hello, Madam Lowe," Jensen echoed after him.

The formal greeting felt courteous and distant.

Candace frowned at Zachary when she was greeted by her daughters' boyfriends.

Zachary understood very well what bothered her. However, he felt that she was in no place to be upset, given that it was her own behavior that brought up this situation, to begin with.

"So, Aunt Candace, what did you want to talk to Heinz about? The floor is all yours," probed Zachary.

"Please have a seat." Candace invited them. "I asked Heinz to come here because I want to know about what happened between him and Grace."

Upon hearing this, Heinz raised his eyebrows. Subconsciously, he did not think that the reason Candace was looking for him was to simply ask about that.

At the very least, not all of them.

Heinz was not in a hurry to answer her. Instead, he sat down and looked at her, saying, "Madam Lowe, Grace and I have been through quite a bit. I admit that I didn't treat her the way she should have been treated."

"You have a wife, don't you?" Candace asked bluntly, "Why did you still pursue Grace?"

Even Heinz was surprised by her straightforwardness. He answered sincerely, "I've already divorced Jodie. I just couldn't help myself from falling in love with Grace. Now, I want to marry her and be with her."

Candace was taken aback and stared at his determined face. She seemed to have been consumed by her thoughts and what she had just heard from him.

All three men looked at her in anticipation of her response to no avail.

"Aunt Candace?" Zachary called out to her to snap her out of her thoughts as it was evident that she was consumed by them.
