Grace was stunned and said, "I'm afraid I can't do that."
"You mean to say that you value money over a life?" Xavier asked in a low voice. "The Sunny Group is much more important than Alice's life?"
"Of course Alice's life is much more important than the Sunny Group. I'm not saying that I value money over my sister's life. I'm saying that we will not cheat you. My father left the Sunny Group for us. It does not belong to Marry alone."
"Grace, as far as I know, you are not Anderson's daughter. I'm pretty sure your father is Timothy, right?" Xavier mocked in a tone full of irony. "What belongs to the Smith family belongs to the Smith family's children. It does not seem to include you, right?"
Grace's heart skipped a beat. The other party seemed to know about this, which meant that he was someone powerful.
This showed that he was well prepared, and he had deliberately targeted her and Alice.
It was just that Grace did not know who in the world would want to help Marry. For a moment, it was hard to guess.
Since he mentioned it, she felt that it was useless to hide it. She said, "Yes, I may not be Anderson's biological daughter, but he was the one who raised me. If you say that I have nothing to do with the Sunny Group, where's your proof? After all, Anderson did not have a will."
"So what?"
"You don't have to be so incisive." Grace said, "I don't want any of the Smith family property. To be honest, I've never thought about going after it."
"Really? But you don't seem not to want any of it. It seems like you value the money more than your sister's life."
"Alice is Anderson's biological daughter. So, she has the right to receive a share of our father's property." After thinking for a while, Grace said, "Now the Sunny Group is under Marry's leadership, but there does not seem to be any progress. Instead, it seems like it's on the verge of collapsing."
"So what?" Xavier said rudely.
"Therefore, I feel that Marry is not fit to be the president of Sunny Group. Alice is pursuing her master's degree right now. If she takes over the Sunny Group, I can guarantee you that Marry would be receiving much more dividends than right now." "You mean that Marry is not as capable as the silly little girl?"
"Obviously," Grace said in a deep voice. "If Marry was capable, she wouldn't be in the detention center."
"If it weren't because of Heinz, you would be the one in the detention centre, not Marry." Xavier scoffed.
Grace was stunned for a while and did her best to compose herself. "I guess that's how luck works. Things change. Marry has always been lucky in the past, but I guess her luck has changed."
"Don't forget. I still have Alice with me." Xavier reminded her in a deep voice.
She pursed her lips and said, "What I'm suggesting is that Marry should just be a shareholder. Frankly, she does not need to be part of the management and this would be good for everyone. What do you think?"
"Well, I've finally managed to be on the receiving end of both your sister's and your eloquence. Both of you sound very high and mighty. Obviously, this arrangement benefits the two of you, yet you still sound pompous. It's as if the world owes you something." "Sir, although I don't know who you are and why you're defending Marry, but since you're doing this, I want to make it clear. I'll be frank with you and I can promise you that I will not be part of the Sunny Group's management team."
"However, do you think Marry is fit to be in the Sunny Group's management, in her current state?"
"What about the employees of Sunny Group?"
"You seem to be concerned about Marry only, but you've completely neglected the employees of Sunny Group."
"What about their future?"
"Shouldn't the management have a little sense of responsibility? Shouldn't we think about the future of those employees and how it would impact their lives? Is this the right decision that we are making?"
"If you insist, then I can only hope that my sister will come home safely."
"The Sunny Group is not important to me. If Anderson's painstaking efforts go to waste and finally fail, then it would not have any effect on me. As you said, Anderson is not my biological father. He is Marry's and Alice's father."
"In that case, Marry will be responsible for the Smith family's downfall. Since you care so much about Marry, then you should consider this." "Marry is the head of the family. So, she should be responsible for it, shouldn't she? The question is, can she afford to do so?"
Then, Xavier scoffed and said, "You are really something. With your eloquence, I don't even know what else to say."
