The temperature in the afternoon kept rising. Luca opened the bottle cap to take a sip of water, then she asked the kids, "Would you like to continue to the next section?"
"Yes. There are tigers in the next park. We’d like to see the fierce tigers," Tommy cheered at the thought of seeing the big tigers he had seen on wildlife shows.
"The tram’s here," reminded Lanie, watching the electric tram slowly approach from a distance.
Since Luke and Luca brought their kids, they bought the tram tickets at the zoo entrance. It allowed them to hop on the tram to the next attraction at any time.
The tram personnel arrived at the next attraction and announced to the passengers, "We've reached the white tiger enclosure. Visitors who are interested in seeing the white tigers, please disembark from the vehicle."
Luca and Luke got off the tram with the kids.
They followed the signs, and when they were about to enter the white tiger enclosure, a female voice rang out.
"Luke Crawford, is that you?" The voice trembled.
Luca turned around to look in the direction of the voice with confusion. She spotted Mavis standing not far away.
What was Mavis doing here?
She had several people with her. Some were carrying photography equipment. They seemed to be here for work.
Mavis grew more certain after she saw Luca. The man beside Luca was indeed Luke Crawford. She hurried over, "It's really you, Luke. It's been so long."
Then, she lowered her head and looked at the three children. She felt a sense of familiarity when she saw Luke from behind earlier, but she could not recognize him, given how tightly he was wrapped up. However, when she saw the children, she was about 80% sure that it was Luke.
"Lanie, Rainie, it's been a while," greeted Mavis. Then, she looked at the other child. She knew Bianca gave birth to three children for Luke. This was the first time she had seen this child.
This child had the shadow of Luke in his features. He looked adorable. Mavis silently lowered her eyelids at the thought that these were Bianca's children. She felt uncomfortable about it, but her expression remained gentle. She wanted to leave a good impression on the kids.
After all, she was in love with Luke.
Lanie and Rainie had not seen Mavis in a while. They did not recognize her right away. Mavis noticed the kids were showing no reaction like Luke, so she spoke to the children first, "I'm Ms. Mavis."
Before Luke got together with Bianca, she used to dote on the children. She bought them snacks and gifts they liked. She remembered that Lanie and Rainie used to really like her.
However, Bianca came back after that. Luke changed, and so did the kids.
An indistinct emotion flashed through Mavis’ lowered eyes when she thought of this. Then, she lifted her head and looked at Luke. She asked, "Did you bring the kids to the zoo?"
She was surprised to see Luke at the zoo.
Even though he loved the children, he was also always busy with work. His time was usually occupied with work, and such a situation was quite rare.
Mavis’ gaze fell on Luca as she noticed her in the corner of her eye. She was sure it was this woman. Otherwise, Luke would not spend his precious time here with the kids... or accompanying this bitch, Luca.
Luke remained silent as if he did not know her at all.
Feeling embarrassed, Mavis bit her lip. It was the weekend today, and she had brought her team to the zoo to gather materials for a zoo design project.
Both Mavis and Luke focused more on their careers. Therefore, they did not really have leisure time.
Yet, Luke was here at the zoo now, spending time with his kids. He was not even bothered to engage with her. This situation was really awkward for her.
Everyone in Mavis' company knew she had previously worked at Luke's company. She was the chief designer, but Luke was ignoring her now.
