When Izabella told Brett she had a meal alone, she didn't want to get too involved with Nathaniel, and she actually planned to split the bill and eat separately, so it's not like she was having a meal with someone else.
But now the pictures in Brett's phone left her speechless and confirmed everything Nathaniel said. Brett didn't trust her.
All the way home and to bed, Izabella thought Brett might get angry, still she bet he’d ask her what happened first, but she didn't expect to lose so badly.
Brett didn't even believe her explanation.
Her silence, in Brett's eyes, was an admission of guilt, and it made him even angrier. He grabbed Izabella's chin, looked down at her condescendingly, and sneered, "Even if you've lost your memory, you haven't forgotten how to lie and seduce others!"
"I didn't seduce anyone." Izabella looked at the coldness that covered Brett's face and felt like her heart was being twisted. "What can these few pictures prove? It was just watching movies and eating. Am I not allowed to make friends?"
"Make friends?" Brett laughed sarcastically. "Is this your way of making friends? Izabella, I never thought you'd have the guts! Did you forget that you're my wife? You dare to lie to me for another man."
No matter what Izabella said, he didn't believe her. Once the seed of doubt was planted, it couldn't be removed.
Brett was prideful and hated being lied to by his closest ones. If Izabella had been honest from the start, he wouldn't have been so pissed.
