Izabella wanted to run away, but where could she go?
The whole R City was under Brett's control. She probably wouldn't even have time to get into a car before she got tied up and sent back with an aftermath she couldn't afford.
And besides... she also has an elder brother.
Brett knew what she was most afraid of. As long as he caught her weak point, she would be like a kite in his hand; no matter how high or far she flew, he could pull her back with just a tug.
Izabella couldn't eat because she was worried, but her stomach couldn't take it anymore, so she cooked two eggs and took them to her bedroom to eat.
The egg went from boiling hot to ice cold, and she waited from daylight to late night. Finally, there was the sound of a car downstairs.
A beam of light gradually brightened the dark night. Izabella sat on the edge of the bed, her gaze shifting from the window to the pile of broken glass on the floor.
She realized something, and swept the glass shards carefully into the trash bin.
As soon as Brett entered, he saw Izabella squatting on the floor, throwing a piece of glass into the trash can. His pupils shrank, and the anger he had suppressed on the way now erupted uncontrollably. It wasn't for any other reason, but because Izabella had smashed their wedding photo.
"What did you do to Kaley today?"
Izabella felt a little regretful. Although she had guessed that Kaley wouldn't die easily, she didn't expect her to be fine so quickly.
Look, as soon as Kaley was fine, this man came to question her. Izabella thought that after the questioning, it would be time for the "punishment."
Once, she had used a marriage contract to keep Brett by her side. But now, that marriage certificate had become her shackle.
"Didn't Kaley tell you everything at the hospital? Do I need to repeat it?"
"So you admit it." Brett's expression was as cold and indifferent as the dark night outside.
