Zachary and Viola came over as well. The latter basically pounced on Noah. "Where did he hit you, my dear Noah?" She was so infuriated that she was breathing heavily.
Zachary immediately shot Noah a glance, and the latter hurriedly said, "I was just messing with you guys."
"Messing with us?" Viola looked at Xavier.
Xavier went with the flow. "He made a bet that you would believe him if he said I'd hit him."
Noah and Zachary were speechless when they heard that. As they had expected, Xavier was great at lying.
At that moment, Noah regretted what he had done a lot. Meanwhile, Viola could finally relax. "Oh, you silly boy. How could you bet on something like that? We have to be honest and never lie to anyone. Understood?"
"I understand. Sorry, Grandma." Noah immediately apologized.
Yvette was slightly angry as well. "Noah, don't make jokes like that in the future anymore, okay? We were all worried about you."
Noah had never been lectured this much before. After all, he was the one who brought the most joy to everyone in the house.
Now, he'd been defeated by Xavier, and he wasn't happy about it at all. With that thought in mind, he hugged Xavier's leg and said, "Mister, didn't you say you'd buy me candy if I won the bet?"
Zachary was speechless when he realized how evil Noah was.
Viola coldly glared at Xavier. "Our dear Noah has always been a good boy, so don't you dare lead him astray! Let's go, Noah. Follow me upstairs to get some rest."
Noah smiled at Xavier in satisfaction before nodding pitifully at Viola. "Alright." Zachary was led away as well.
Viola cared for the kids so much that she didn't realize Noah was lying again. However, Yvette could tell what was going on. She had a feeling that Noah had thought of the excuse because he didn't want to be lectured.
"Yvvy," Xavier suddenly called out.
