Viola was worried about how Xavier might treat Noah, she gave Xavier a gentle reminder.
"Don't worry," Xavier responded. He wasn't going to make things difficult for a child.
In the bathroom, Noah took a bath as he pondered how to prevent Yvette from staying involved with Xavier. He decided to take a proactive approach.
At bedtime, he tightly grasped Yvette's hand and asked, "Mom, can you sleep with me tonight?"
Seeing Noah, who had been shy about bathing earlier, Yvette didn't hesitate to agree. "Sure!"
Noah was pleased and happily got into bed. After the lights were turned off, he cuddled up to Yvette and asked, "Mom, where's Mr. Lander?"
Yvette was wondering about that too. Since their last meal together, she hadn't seen Claude. "I don't know where he is; he's probably busy with work," she replied.
Noah felt it was more complicated than that. Claude used to contact Yvette, no matter how busy he was. Why the sudden silence? Was something wrong?
"Mom, I really miss Mr. Lander. Could you give him a call?"
Yvette realized it had indeed been a while since she last contacted Claude. She didn't know how he had been recently. And so, she picked up her phone and dialed Claude's number.
Claude's ringtone echoed in the ward at a hospital in Asnea. Yerick went to pick it up. Seeing Yvette's name on the screen, he frowned slightly.
"It's been so long since Claude's accident, and she's only calling now? What a heartless woman."
Glancing at Claude, who was lying on the bed, covered in injuries and attached to various medical devices, Yerick abruptly ended Yvette's call.
"Don't blame me for this, Claude. You should have found someone suitable instead of entangling yourself with a married woman," Yerick murmured. He then blocked Yvette's number and placed the phone back on the nightstand.
When Yvette called Claude again, the line was busy. Assuming he was occupied, she decided not to try again.
