The car stopped less than an inch away from Yvette. Her pupils constricted a little, but she remained calm. There were surveillance cameras, and she didn't believe that Gemma would dare to do anything to her in public.
Gemma looked at the beautiful and calm woman in front of her. If it weren't for Zoey, she would've actually pitied Yvette.
"Are you really going to go against my daughter?" she asked.
Yvette said honestly, "There's nothing going on between Jeremiah and me. Not now, not ever."
She had decided to be with Xavier, so why would she accept Jeremiah? Besides, even if she didn't end up with Xavier, she still wouldn't be with Jeremiah. After all, she had a few kids.
"I hope that's the case."
Then, Gemma told her driver to drive away. As she looked at Yvette in the rearview mirror, she couldn't help lighting up a cigarette. She wasn't sure if Yvette was an honest woman or if she was pretending.
Gemma called Shannon to tell her about something.
…
Later that night, Shannon invited Zoey back to stay at Lane Mansion. Zoey knew Gemma had some cards up her sleeves; even the great Shannon had to listen to her.
Zoey called Gemma and said, "Thanks, Mom. You're awesome."
The latter smiled. "I've already given Yvette a warning. From what I could see, I don't think she'll dare to have any funny ideas about Jeremiah again."
Hearing that Gemma only warned Yvette, Zoey was slightly upset. "Mom, did you get tricked by her innocent act? I'm telling you, she's a two-faced bitch. She also told me that she had nothing to do with Jeremiah previously. However, she met up with him shortly after that."
While lighting her cigarette, Gemma raised her eyebrows slightly after hearing Zoey add fuel to the fire. "Really? Is she really that devious?"
