Chapter 84
Xavier suddenly felt like he was suffocating. He put down the documents he was holding and Instructed Mark. “Employ an executive CEO!”
Mark was startled. “Mr. Lane, what’s going on with you?”
“I want to rest for a while,” Xavier replied. “Don’t report to me unless it’s important.”
It was normal to employ CEOs in large corporations, but Mark was shocked.
Xavier had done everything himself ever since getting the job. He hadn’t even allowed him a moment’s rest for the sake of his career. But now, he was going to let go.
It took Mark a long time to recover. “Yes. I will put out an ad at once.”
After Mark was gone, Xavier read the documents again and again. All he could think about was Yvette. He just couldn’t accept it. He had been working hard day and night to earn money for all these years, but for what?
It had been to make up for the losses that he had suffered because the Snyders had deceived him, and it had been for the sake of his pride! Billions meant nothing to Xavier!
However, that sum had humiliated him in upper–class society. At one time, he had been known as the idiot who had gotten tricked because he had tried to gain a position using a woman!
Not only had he lost several billion, he had been forced to marry a disabled woman who had hearing problems! What was he left with now?
He had been left with Yvette’s intentional memory loss, and then she had abandoned him…
At this thought, Xavier pulled at his bow tie. He decided to bring the child back himself and then expose Yvette for her fake amnesia! After that, he would punish her properly so that she would learn her lesson!
Xavier’s mind was in chaos until a knock on the door broke his train of thought.
“Come in.” Someone pushed the office door open
Yvette was wearing a light–colored dress. She stood outside and looked into Xavier’s deep intense eyes with her pretty, bright eyes. 1
Xavier instinctively pulled his bow tie straight, returning to his usual perfectly put–together self.
“What’s the matter, Ms. Snyder?”
Yvette walked in, Her legs were long and slender. She put a document on his table. When she bent over, Xavier got a good view: His throat tightened, and he looked away.
However, before long, he couldn’t help looking again! Yvette was his wife! Why shouldn’t he look at her? After a few years apart, his wife was now curvier than she ever had been.
Yvette hadn’t noticed his eyes on her, and she would never have imagined that someone as prim and proper as he was would have this side to his personality.

“Mr. Lane, I’ve been doing some research on charity projects, and I’ve listed out some suggestions here. Please implement them.
“The most important thing is to try our best to guarantee education for the children with disabilities…” Yvette was doing these things so that she would have a reason to approach Xavier.
The other reason was to do something for children like her, who had been born with disabilities. She explained her ideas to Xavier one by one.
They were leaning very close to each other, and her elusive scent tickled Xavier’s nostrils. He couldn’t help thinking about that ecstatic feeling he’d experienced a few years ago.
