Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 1076

Amelia's mind was a mess, and her vision was hazy. She didn't even notice a car approaching her.

"Mom!" shouted Eli as he rushed up to her.

The shout snapped her back to reality, but it was too late. She froze in the middle of the street, staring blankly at the car getting closer and closer.

The car's brakes screeched as the vehicle skidded to a halt. Amelia felt someone pushing her out of the way from behind, causing her to fall to the ground. The pain from the rough landing jolted her back to her senses.

She got up and saw Eli lying in a pool of blood. Her already clouded mind throbbed painfully at the sight.

"Eli!" Amelia ignored her scraped hands and knees and rushed over, tears falling uncontrollably as she knelt beside her son, helpless.

She wanted to lift him, but Gideon, who had arrived, stopped her. "Don't move him! Wait for the ambulance."

As they did not know where Eli might be injured, moving him could worsen his condition.

The ambulance arrived shortly, and Eli was rushed to the nearest hospital.

Amelia sat outside the operating room. She kept blaming herself and praying, "I'm sorry, Eli. I'm so sorry. This is all my fault. Please be okay. I don't know how I'll live if anything happens to you."

Seeing Amelia's scraped hands, elbows, and knees, Gideon called a nurse to help bandage her wounds. He reassured her, "He'll be okay. My sister can handle it if the doctors here can't."

Amelia looked at him through tear-filled eyes. She wanted to tell him to stop being so nice to her, but words failed her.

Just then, the door to the operating room opened, and a nurse came out.

"How is he?" Amelia asked immediately.
