Gideon had always thought it was a dream. At times, he thought of the dream upon seeing Amelia and felt diffident. In the end, reality told him that it wasn't a dream and that it was real!
And because of that, they had a child! What an awkward situation! He cleared his throat and asked, "Why didn't you tell me back then?"
"Even if I told you, would that have changed anything?" Amelia asked.
After what happened back then, she panicked. It was her first time. She wasn't sure what Gideon thought of her. She was afraid that she would mistake her to be the same as the women in the bar.
As Amelia didn't know what to do, she decided to run away in the end. If she hadn't run away back then and stayed in the room, would Gideon have let her keep the child?
Since he was a heartless person, he wouldn't let her have the child. Thus, she didn't regret her decision. At least, she had Eli now. It was a gift from God.
"If you had told me, I would've taken responsibility," said Gideon. Although he didn't want to get married, he wasn't an irresponsible man.
Upon hearing that, Amelia was taken aback. "If I told you, would you have accepted my love confession and married me?"
Gideon fell silent. Amelia knew his answer from his silence. He wouldn't have married her.
"You should head back and attend to your affairs. Just pretend you don't know about it. Now that I have a company that I can manage, as long as the business is stable, I can raise Eli." Amelia forced out a smile.
When she was about to go back to the ward, she suddenly remembered something. She turned around and said, "By the way, I hope you can keep this matter a secret and not let Eli know about it."
Eli had already been disappointed once. Amelia didn't want him to be disappointed again.
