"Dyl, I'm heartbroken." After lunch, Dora went to Dylan's room and cried to him about what happened. She didn't dare to let her parents know about her crush on Eli, so she could only rant to Dylan.
However, Dylan wasn't a good person to rant to. He just sat in front of the laptop and coded. He only hummed in response perfunctorily.
When Dora saw how perfunctory Dylan was, she placed her hands on her waist. "That's all? Dylan, why are you so heartless? Your pretty, adorable, and kind sister is heartbroken. You were in the same womb with me, and you're my older brother who was born eight minutes before me. Can't you comfort me?"
"You two weren't even in a relationship. You just had a crush on him. So, how are you heartbroken?" Dylan asked.
Dora was speechless. Dylan's words pierced her heart. Even though his words made sense, she thought that something felt off.
"Instead of wasting your time on being sad about these meaningless things, you should study well. If you can be as great as Mom, you wouldn't even need to pursue someone. Someone as great as Dad would come to you instead," added Dylan.
Dora pursed her lips. "You aren't comforting me at all. You're trying to nag. You're such a heartless man! You'll never get a girlfriend!"
Dylan was at a loss for words. At this time, the laptop screen happened to alert that there was a flagged sensitive keyword in the campus forum.
Dylan clicked on it and saw that it was a gossip post from an unknown account. The gossip was about the person in front of him complaining to him about how heartless he was.
He glanced at the content of the post. It was about Dora and Eli dating in school. As evidence, there were a few photos of them being close to each other. Nevertheless, most of the photos were edited. It was obvious that they were edited. The objective was clear—to start a rumor.
Dylan typed a few codes and found the name of the person behind the unknown account. It was Penelope Poole. Then, he continued to code before exiting the program.
…
Meanwhile, after Penelope drafted the post and submitted it, the computer showed that the post was being reviewed. Five minutes later, it showed that the post didn't pass the review.
