Logan chuckled as he started the car. “Do you want to buy some new clothes for the class reunion tomorrow night?” he asked.
“Nope,” Lorraine replied. She didn’t care much about the reunion. Besides, she wasn’t about to put on a show and pretend to be someone she wasn’t
After a pause, Logan continued, “Can you tell me about the classmate who always picks on you? I want to be prepared tomorrow night so that I can make sure she doesn’t bother you again.”
Lorraine turned to look at him but was suddenly reminded of their earlier kiss. Her cheeks flushed slightly. Fortunately, he was focused on the road and didn’t notice.
“I’ve never actually offended Jocelyn. It’s just that she’s used to being the center of attention and can’t stand it when others outshine her. If someone does, she tends to make things difficult for them.”
With a smile, she added, “Don’t worry about me. Just stay close to me tomorrow night, and i’ll protect you.” After all, she wasn’t a pushover.

Lorraine said, “We just made a delivery and are picking up the kids from school. Logan’s driving, so you can talk What’s bothering you?
Although they used to fight a lot as kids, the sisters had grown wry close over the years.
