Unrivaled Dragon Lord novel Chapter 60

A strong earthquake broke out overseas after a short while and although it was already late at night, countless forces from the dark realm were all shaken by the news. Several forces from different parties had completely vanished overseas. They were not any insignificant forces yet they were still all wiped out by countless intercontinental missiles that hit every corner of the world just few minutes back then, and many islands had been destroyed by the missiles too.

The news shook the countries and many people started to guess the culprit behind the event as only a minority of people had this kind of capability! Furthermore, some large forces and the leaders of powerful countries had also received warning at the same time that warned them to not have any thought on China, or else, they would face the same consequences suffered by the annihilated forces. Nobody knew how many leaders had had their legs trembled and were breaking cold sweats on their office chair tonight, and they would certainly not know who had made this event happen.

More people believed that the Dragon Lord had retired at the moment because if the Dragon Lord had not disappeared, this kind of situation would not happen. They believed that the Dragon Lord was truly gone while many international warlords were secretly excited because the existence of the Dragon Lord had pressurized them for too long. With the disappearance of the Dragon Lord, they could finally go wild in the overseas.

Yet it was hard to imagine what their reactions would look like if those international warlords knew the legendary one overseas was willing to become a husband in a matrilocal marriage who was deemed useless in people’s eyes. They would definitely be so stunned and confused that they wondered whether he had had the satisfaction when becoming a waste or being a Dragon Lord was no longer an easy task. Nobody knew how Maxwell endured the bad voices towards him as an insignificant son in law, including his young subordinate.

Leila opened her eyes the next morning and suddenly felt a sharp pain at her abdomen the moment she wanted to get up. She drew a cold breath and became more clearheaded. “Don’t move, there’re still threads on your wound. Don’t break the threads.” A composed voice was heard from the side. Leila turned her head and saw Greta, Harriet and a face which she detested but was looking at her with caring eyes.

“You’re awake?” Greta asked with a soft voice. “Miss Sandoval, it’s my fault that I didn’t manage to protect you.” Leila apologized profusely the moment she spoke and her face flushed due to great embarrassment. Greta was only a female president in the Ocean City, yet she could not even protect her. She used to belong to the deputy team of the Special Forces and had experienced countless showers of gun bullets. The honor and kudos she used to receive had backfired on her now.

“You’re injured, and you’ve tried your best.” Greta consoled her softly. She was made to drink a lot last night and had become unconscious, not knowing what had happened at all. “Who sewed my wound close?” Leila lowered her head and was startled when she saw the trace of needle on her wound that was exposed from the gap of her shirt. Her expression became serious at once as her wound was obviously being treated by a professional. The treatment of the wound was perfect and even her could not do it that well.

“He did it.” Greta threw a glimpse at Maxwell. “You?” Leila stared at Maxwell with an incredulous look. She could never believe that a fraud like him actually had such a brilliant medical skill. It was not possible. How could he know the way to do emergency treatments? Only the secret agents and those from the special forces of China had received the systematic trainings. She met his eyes and tried to discern something from his eyes, yet his eyes were clear and calm as usual, and she could not tell anything from them after a long while.

“I was drunk, and you were injured and unconscious last night. He brought us home when he reached the hotel,” Greta threw a glance at Maxwell and said. “That was what he said.”

“How can you prove what you said was true?” Leila stared at Maxwell and asked slowly. “Miss Sandoval, you didn’t pick up my call when I called you from home. I only went to the hotel to check out on you because I was worried about you, yet I saw corpses everywhere in the hotel when I reached there, and it took me a long time to find both of you.” Maxwell spoke with a gloomy and aggrieved expression which seemed sincere. The moment he finished his words, Greta’s phone rang.

After finished talking on phone, Greta took a deep glance on Maxwell and said, “Melissa called just now and she said from the news, there was a gang of mysterious robbers conducting a massacre in the hotel last night, and no one survived except the customers.”

“No, they’re not robbers.” Leila interrupted and corrected her. “If they’re not robbers, who were they?” Greta glanced at Leila with a weird look. “I don’t know, but I assure you any robber would not have such good martial art skills like them.” Leila muttered and frowned. “I used to catch many criminals and robbers back then, and those people last night were different from them. They were highly trained and had strong capability. They could even control their footsteps with consciously. If I had not discerned a trace of blood smell, I could never notice them at all. I’m afraid this kind of ace is hard to be found elsewhere in China.” She analyzed.
