Unveiling The Genius Behind The Divorce novel Chapter 289

Chapter 289 A Good Ex Should Be Dead

Gavyn’s throat tightened, and his voice trembled unconsciously.

The famous Ms. Herrera from New York, whom Gavyn desperately wanted to get to know, was right

before him.

Aylin still maintained a faint smile. She was calm and refused to say anything. No one had an inkling of the truth.

However, Gavyn already had an answer in his heart.

Knowing Aylin’s personality, she would have denied it if she was not Ms. Herrera.

Gavyn sat back in his chair. His head buzzed as though the world was spinning. Everything felt so

unreal.

Ignoring Alisa’s puzzled look, Gavyn could not help but ask, “Why didn’t you tell me?” His voice

was tense.

Aylin was actually Morgan Herrera. It was the artist that Gavyn had admired for many years. He wondered what else about her that he did not know.

Aylin glanced at Gavyn and did not answer.

“Alisa, come here, color this part.

Aylin lowered her head and focused on playing with the child again.

In just a few seconds, Gavyn looked at Aylin again as if there was already a thick barrier between them, which made him extremely sad. He felt it was difficult for him to get to know the real her

anymore.

In the past, Aylin had been so dedicated and loyal to Gavyn, but he disdained her. Now she was so talented and outstanding that others looked up to her. He wanted to know more about her but had lost the right to do so.

So is this what it means every dog has its day?

It was obvious that Aylin was not as unguarded as before, and there was already a distinct gulf

between them.

Now, the time had come for Gavyn’s turn to be upset and downhearted.

Gavyn’s heart ached at the thought of it. He wished he could return to the past and start all over again.

If I could do it all over again. If I could start all over again…

That meal was doomed to be off-putting for Gavyn. Even with the best food and wine, he had no appetite. So he only consumed some to fill his stomach.

Aylin fed Alisa very well, stirring the soup with a spoon and bringing it to the little girl’s mouth, one

bite after another.

Gavyn’s gazes were fixed on Aylin, and he could not take his eyes off her.

Gavyn pondered why he did not notice Aylin was so dazzling back then.

Even the most ordinary movements were done elegantly with poise by Aylin. Her every gesture was full of graceful charm.

Gavyn thought he originally could have appreciated that beauty all by himself.

When Gavyn realized so many men were eyeing Aylin like a tiger watching its prey, he felt a strong displeasure. His steak-slicing action using a knife could not help but become more vigorous, and

the sound of it scraping against the plate resonated. “Clack! Clack!”

Alisa noticed Gavyn’s strange behavior and asked with a confused look, “Aylin, what’s wrong with

Gavyn?”

Aylin smiled lightly. “He likes to cut his steak like that. It’s okay. You eat your steak.”

Gavyn was speechless.

Aylin and Alisa were having a good time while Gavyn found his food tasteless.

When Alisa ate the third cream ball, she heard a familiar cry.

A beautiful woman with brown curly hair rushed in and exclaimed, “Alisa! Mommy’s here. Where’re you?”

“Mommy!”

Alisa threw herself into the arms of the woman.

The man who followed closely behind was sweating profusely and sizing the child anxiously. “Are you okay? Didn’t you say you’re going to the toilet? Why did you disappear?”

-Alisa pouted. “I got lost when I came out and couldn’t find you two anywhere. Daddy, you didn’t

even look for me. How dare you criticize me!”

Aylin helplessly reminded, “She’s still young. You should pay more attention to her even though

you two are lovey-dovey as a married couple.”
