"Cordelia, I will deal with this matter as soon as possible. I will go home within an hour," Elijah said solemnly.
Cordelia looked at him for a while with an unknown look in her eyes.
Suddenly, Elijah bent over, leaned into the car window, and kissed her on the lips. "Be good. Go back first. I will take care of it."
Imogen opened her mouth wide.
She thought, "Oh my god, I didn't expect that Mr. Hansen, who was said to be cold, would treat a woman so proactively!"
Cordelia drove the car far away. Imogen suddenly screamed, "Wow, Cordelia, your husband treats you so well..."
"It's normal. I think he may treat other women the same way." Cordelia frowned, feeling very irritable.
Imogen immediately helped Elijah deny it. "No. Cordelia, I heard from Ben that he has known Elijah for so many years, and Elijah has behaved himself."
Cordelia raised her eyebrows. "Oh? Can we believe Ben's words?"
"Yes. He doesn't need to lie to me about this kind of thing. After all, it's someone else's business." Imogen looked serious.
"Anyway, Cordelia, I think you should be more confident. Besides, you have a trump card in your hand. What are you afraid of?"
Cordelia pursed her lips and listened to Imogen without saying a word.
"Although Ben is rude in bed, he has been useful to me.
"The relationship between the two of us was very simple from the beginning. We followed the arrangement of our families, got engaged, and took what we needed from each other.
"Later, after my family's accident, our relationship dragged on.
"He is annoying, but he won't talk at random. His words are credible, Cordelia."
Cordelia would not completely trust men, but Imogen's words did give her some comfort.
After sending Imogen home, Cordelia went straight back to the Maple Villa.
